Forsake on Kickstarter - support a shoe company by skiers for skiers

A few years ago my friend and I noticed our friends and ourselves sliding around and soaking through our skate shoes because none of us wanted to wear ugly hiking boots. This inspired us to start a company that makes shoes that are fully waterproof and have a lugged sole, but also have the skate and urban style we won't give up for dry socks. We put in 2 years of work developing the company and our designs and now we're ready for mass production.

We put our project on the crowd-funding site Kickstarter.com (the same one that Jib Life is on) to generate the money for mass production. We are offering a bunch of rewards including pre-ordering the shoes at the wholesale price of $75. These will retail for $120 - $140 so that's a pretty solid deal for fully waterproof shoes.

They'd be shipping out this September. Any shoe with a waterproof membrane won't breath as well as one without it, but the membrane is also breathable so they will be comparable to a shoe with gore-tex. Here is a picture of the demo they showed me at the factory in china

damm those are suprisingly really awsome shoes. I think its a super awsome niche in the market if marketed and advertised in the right places could become very succesful. There definatly is a lack of this type of footwear out there. When you guys get going reup this thread i would definatly buy a pair of one of those for next winter

These can fill so many voids. I work for a landscaping company and in the summer it sucks because everything is wet in the am and hot all day. So if you wear shoes your feet get soaked early and wearing boots all day in the heat absolutely sucks when it's that hot. These are the perfect solution! I'll definitely be dropping money for a pair.

Hmmm the ship date is almost exactly the same as the time I'll need a new pair of kicks. Perfect. Also, this is one of the first shoes I've ever seen that actually looks good and is designed to withstand Minnesota winters.

Everyone who says that they would totally get them if they were mass produced realizes that they're missing out on such a good thing if they don't pledge to support now, right?

Help these guys out, I definitely want these kicks! If you pledge now, you get sick shoes for half as much as they'll sell for, and have helped start off a really awesome company; if you don't pledge now, you basically pussied out and either pay full price for the shoes when they get enough funding, or you get the valor of saying you didn't try at all.

(If you're truly broke on this, than you're exempt from previous statement. I'm just thinkin that if the shoes are as high quality as I'm picturing, it's one hell of a deal and something I'd love to spend money on in the future.) Also, that picture showing the waterproof vs breathability is pretty amazing, if I'm understanding it correctly.

I used to love snow skate shoes.  Haha, they were really for snowskates, but I simply bought them because they were a skate style shoe with awesome water protection. 

When I look back on those shoes, they didn't have the awesome sole that you developed. 

What you have come up with is a street style shoe, with an acceptably adept hiking sole, coupled with a waterproofing layer.

Sign me up!

until then ill throw a thread up on a few snowboard sites i frequent to get the word out.


i love these shoes cause theyre basically an upgraded better version of my current shoes (gravis lowdown hightops) and i could see myself wearing a pair of these everyday for sure
