The "It's snowing in _____" thread

I thought it'd be nice if there were one thread where people could post when it's snowing at their home mountain and give a quick local report.

It's currently snowing in Mammoth CA. It's been very windy also so windward slopes will be stripped but leeward slopes will be epic. Website says 5" in 24 hours and 11" from this storm, but it looks like more to me. Skied today and there was some good deep stuff, tomorrow should be even better!

Saturday (wasn't up Sunday) was without a doubt the best day skiing of my life...perfect amount of blower pow with a delayed opening of the backside to ensure a full day of untracked lines. God...so amazing.

I never understood why people say it rains in the PNW all the time. Of course it isn't raining, its always snowing. The thing is though, the majority of your snow has a very high moisture content. That's great for snow pack stability, but sucks to ski day of.

Utah, BC interior, Colorado, and many other places get plenty of good quality snow. The only problem with that though is avy danger.

You guys do get a shit ton of snow, but where did the joke start?

snowed like 6 inches in steamboat last night, supposed to get around 10-15 inches in the next 36 hours! and not to mention the around 60 inches we got feb 20th-23rd!!

There hasn't been any accumulation @ 8500' here yet, which is as high as I've been since I've been working. All we've gotten in that dippin dots flash frozen rain balls shit that melts in 1 minute.

I hate this season.

actually we are supposed to get mad crazy wind in tahoe, and the temps are rising and falling so it might turn to rain. hopefully it stays cold though
