So I don't know if anyone already does this or if this has ever been done on here before but I'm going to assume not.

Basically anyone on here can play, it's just a fun, good realistic stock market game for all you finance majors out there. Anyone can play its just for fun but if it catches on maybe we can set up a prize of some sort.

Start with $200,000.00. Game goes on for a year (2/15/2012 - 2/13/2013) so I'm hoping this catches on!! Goodluck to anyone who joins. There are more detailed rules on the sight.

Fucking internet cut out right as I was exiting my short of citi..... Would have been around 1.xx% gain but sadly it turned into a .17% loss.

Anyone still checking their stocks? i've not really made any money in the past week but everyone else seems to have lost a bit. i luckily got rid of apple at around 630, seems like quite a few people lost a lot of money with it.

i'm getting a bit addicted to the game though ha!

Is the link dead for anyone else? My investments finally started paying off decently, and I made it to position #50. I must admit that I really do not like the format. It is very difficult to watch long-term trends, and buying/selling can be very problematic. Love the idea, not the platform.

This just displays the last page of the standings relative to my 9th position. They are doing absolutely horrible, the one currently in 189th has a net return of -$122,632.42!

Don't be so quick to judge those doing worse than you. They probably weren't paying attention to their stocks. Hell if I still played the game I would probably be at 350k.

Realistically it is because he is actually "investing." The majority of the front runners have probably taken massive risks that nobody would dare consider if it were real money, and are able to ride out volatility swings because it doesn't matter. When you give people fake money with no downside to losing it, chances are they take big risks, fully leverage themselves and get lucky (not saying anyone in top ten doesn't know what they are doing).

From the posts I've seen him make throughout the years I'd be willing to bet that he is pretty bearish right now. If the game were longer than a year and actually mattered, he would probably do quite well.

I stopped doing this after I realized it wasn't realistic at all. Anyways, my advice to those that are still in it is just follow the trend. If you just trade by the sma or ema you should easily be in the top 10 no time.
