So I don't know if anyone already does this or if this has ever been done on here before but I'm going to assume not.

Basically anyone on here can play, it's just a fun, good realistic stock market game for all you finance majors out there. Anyone can play its just for fun but if it catches on maybe we can set up a prize of some sort.

Start with $200,000.00. Game goes on for a year (2/15/2012 - 2/13/2013) so I'm hoping this catches on!! Goodluck to anyone who joins. There are more detailed rules on the sight.

swing positions suck! started the day after not checking in for 3 days, in wich 3k were gone..

but(!!!) short term positions went well today

4 stocks i got into today, starting 3:15pm (NY time)
SBUX- buy 2000 shares @51.61$. 1500 sold @51.79$ (270$ gain), 500 sold @51.81$ (another 100$ gain)- total gain of 370$
MU- buy 500 shares @8.25$, this lazy bum didn't work too much, sold 500 @8.31$ (30$ gain)
AAPL- buy 200 shares @544.76$ , market was about to close so i took the money- sold 200 @544.99$ (66$ gain)
also took a short position on NVDA @14.78$, didn't manage to close it, so i'll keep it for swing.

total of 45 minutes of trading today (3:15-market close): 466$

i wish i had that much money in my real trading account so i could trade the same amounts of shares and make that much money :(

dammit huge loss today. went from ranked 42 to pretty much last. Also realized that I bought into forward inudstries instead of ford haha!

Oh well I think it is because I have so much invested into gold exploration so those stocks should hopefully rebound in the near future as the companies lay out their season plans

i know that, but on the other hand- making profit every day is just as improtant..
+ i've tried to make "real world" trades, not going crazy with amounts and money put on the line..
now i'm doing mostly really short term trades (30 minutes position hold at most) with bigger amounts and it works pretty well.. (tuesday-1300$ gain, wednesday i didn't trade, thursday- 4200$ gain, friday- 5200$ gain)

+if i had that much buying power on a real money account, i'd probably take lower risk trades, and would be more than happy to make 400$ a day

Every dollar well point gets over $75 my family nets 12kish profit(real money). So far we are at a %2000 gain but it will sky rocket once it hits the strike price. Calls ftw.

I did the same thing. Put like 110k into some junior mining companies and then just got killed. It looks like they are on the rebound though so I am glad I stuck with them.
