i remember when i was 7 and i got my first pair of zip off pants, and my mos friend from college was visiting and i ran up to him and shouted "my pants are so cool!" and it was lolz.


also, a lot of people like zip offs for hiking, but i think they are uncomfortable

My thoughts.

The zip off rain/ski pants are the heat.
The pant/short zip offs are for fags, no ifs ands or buts about it.

so zip off pants arent for heat? stupid cobra is stupid

if you did any outdoor exploring in the spring you would feel differently. when you start hiking at 4am you want pants on, when 11am rolls around pants are no bueno.

Yup, never done any out door exploring here.

Why would you need shorts after 11am? Don't say the heat, just don't. You will only make your self look like a bitch.

Pants are nice to keep the bugs and sticker bushes off your legs. If you are in tick country, you can blouse them to keep the ticks off. The heat ain't that bad... Just deal with it.

If I want to wear shorts, I will wear shorts, from 4 am (or 2 or 3am) till I go to bed. I can put some over pants on if it is chilly out. F.Y.I The material that most zip off pants are made of has almost zero heat retention. Also, in the spring and summer, I don't get cold, just uncomfortable. (that is a lie, In May when it was 5 F, snowing and 40 mph winds, and I had no winter gear, I was cold!)

so i look like a bitch if i say heat for regular zip off pants while you look like a bitch for saying heat for zip down ski pants.

you seem to worried about self image. i wear em because its nice to zip down into shorts when touring. you dont wear because they make you look like a fag or a bitch. i would work on that bud

My friend always wore his as khaki shorts. Then he put the bottoms on and the shorts had faded but the pant legs hadn't and he had two-toned pants.

When I was referring to full length side zip ski/rain pants as being the heat, I was calling them cool, dope, the schizniz, awesome, radical, etc...

I have worn pants in 115 F weather, I would not suggest wearing Gortex anything in 80 F heat. There is a difference between being tough and a heat casualty. I also think I gave reasons why I don't wear zip off pants, other then not wanting to look like a bike commuting hippie fag.
I also hate that zipper, which is just another thing that can break.

Used to wear them in elementary school. I had this favorite pair of orange ones, but once i unzipped them I could never figure out how to get them to zip back on, So the teacher or my mom would do it.

Don't knock it until you've tried it.

I play frisbee golf and I love it. When I lived in so cal I would play everyday, sometimes even multiple courses per day. So far I have played about 33 different courses, and whenever we go on a road trip we always try to play at least one course along the way. Frisbee golf and skiing are basically my 2 favorite activities.

lmao, thanks for that.

The boyfriend bought some this summer for all the hiking adventures we go on, but I told him they were only an acceptable form of clothing for outdoor activity use; he is not allowed to wear them on social outings
