Actually it kind of has to happen..

the parliament in Iraq I guess is putting something into their laws that says if an American soldier shoots any Iraq no matter if they are being shot at or not they will be put on trial for murder or something.. not saying they will be found guilty but they will have to prove their life was on the line thats why they had to shoot.

its going to cause far to many problems so they are planning on just getting out, which we should anyways.

Like that's ever gonna happen. IF we actually pull out ever we'll still be leaving a ton of troops behind like always, and we'll probably send more to afghan or iran. Perpetual warfare for no reason.

of course we will have to leave people there its a must, unfortunately but its going to be more for security.

My friend is being deployed for his 3rd tour in February and he is doing security in Iraq. He said they just are protecting convoys that are moving important people around and that they arent even really fighting there anymore.. Just talked to him about this last night, so its fresh news.

Afghanistan is another story, he said if he gets switched and sent there he will be doing mortar calculations since he already did his time up front. He was a scout sniper and a gunner on a hummer.. kids CRAZZYYY haha but normal at the same time not like some fucked up war vet that is a nut.

We do need to just get the fuck out of Afghanistan though, its definitely becoming a waste. Bring people back spend like 3% of what we are spending being there on intelligence work and counter-terrorism and we will be fine.

Whole thing has been a waste. We were supposed to go over there for a short time and get shit done.

Every year talk of pulling troops out never happened. Just kept expanding it, not surprising.



There will still be us troops and bases all over the middle east in 30 years.

This "war" will probably still be going on at least for the next 5, easily 10 plus

we have had bases all over the world for a long time, sure its somewhat of a waste but not the nearly as bad as the actually fighting. the war itself i what is costing all the money. if we had a few thousand people at a base in another country thats not going to hurt us financially as much as have 100,000 people over there fighting. at least i dont think..

What gives us the right to stay in all these countries. If I lived in some of them I'd kick the US military the fuck out.

We have a shit ton of people in countries we haven't been fighting for years, or weren't even fighting. We have like 50k in Germany and Japan. It's kind of fucked up and most definitely wasteful.

The US probably wouldn't exist if we left iraq 3 years ago? God damn you're fucking retarded. As far as it not being a waste, those troops cost money, nothing is free. Hell no. Obvious waste is obvious.

well im here in Germany becuase my dad is serving your country.... And all these places are via points to other places. Africa is a huge problem right know, and we have more troops from my base in germany that go to africa and try and take care of the problems there than any other place.

Sure it would be annoying if you were an Iranian extremist and there was a US military base 500 miles from you.

No WMD's were ever found in Iraq if I remember correctly and Al qaeda was being armed by Iraq and Iran believe neither of which have WMDs or Nukes for that matter.

Not denying because I do think Iraq probably had some WMD's we just never found them. I just wanna see some proof man thats all.

And its not going to happen, i mean we are slowly closing bases here in germany. 3 have closed in the last 10 years. But we are not going to get rid of all of them. Its cheaper to have guys go to africa, iraw, afgan, and other places from here/italy than the us.

The US spends a shit ton of fucking money on the military, the us has a shit ton of people in the military.

"If we had a few thousand" 50 thousand in a single country is more than a few thousand. That costs money, which doesn't matter because we'll spend trillion, waste is no big deal for our govt, neither is chillin in every country long after anything has happened.



To put this in perspective. What if china had a base in texas? What if Korea had a base in new york? What if Germany had a base in nebraska? It would probably piss off everyone in America off a whole bunch, get a bunch of people protesting and shit, and try and get them out of the US. some how it's supposed to be different when we do it to other countries. But that's right, America is always the good guy, we can do no wrong.

the invasion really came down to the USA getting fucked over on the UN sanctioned, food for oil program. USA was doing all the heavy lifting and france and britain weren't fulfilling their UN obligations while signing oil contracts with saddam on the side. bush was tired of getting fucked over so he stuck his middle finger up to the UN and invaded.

At the same time, the invasion was a joke. We shouldn't have gone in. The whole reason for us going in was pretty much the wmd's being everywhere and ready for use against us, and that was obvious nans, yet years later we're still over there.

I think it's kind of a big deal. 10 years of conflict in Afghanistan and simultaneous conflict in Iraq. Now after that great amount of time the Iraqi's are putting forth legislation to get U.S. troops out of Iraq, Al Sadr resorted to parliament and not road side bombs, kids go to hospitals without lethal bio hazards, and also attend functional schools. Afghanistan is still a work in progress and it might not work, but I do believe we are fighting for liberty and freedom, though they are difficult goals to achieve. This remarkable feat is only credit to the men and women who cleaned up wreckage of a police station or felt the true wrath of a leak like Abu Ghraib. These brave men and women volunteered. Why would they do that? How are they able to sustain their effort? What is their cause?

I guess I will really never know the true motive of the U.S. government, but I trust members of the service to choose the right.
