people who’s only personality trait is lifting and all they do for fun is lift are some ANNOYING and BORING ass mfs god damn. Like Ik it’s good to keep your body strength healthy and in check but goddamn how boring ur life gotta be for you to make that your whole lifestyle and identity? Shit’s so fucking stupid.
Jemsi need to stop buying guitars pedals but i simply cannot and will not stop
What a fucking idiot. Ya bcuz Syd Barrett used a million pedals to play interstellar overdrive??? Unless ur in a power trio, pedals aren’t really needed. I mean ur really just selling ur self short and essentially “corking the bat” for ur lack of ability/ tone.

But it’s okay when skiing is my whole personality right? Asking for a friend

if syd barrett was alive and wasn’t fucked by acid he’d probably be obsessed with pedals along with a lot of other psychedelic acts before effects pedals besides overdrive/fuzz were a thing
SlitherySnakeskiing often involves interacting with people and also it’s a lot more adventurous and there’s a lot more variety than with lifting
also skiing is more time consuming in general so it often takes a large chunk of your life
I guess a counter argument, but I see tons of people at the gym talking, like it’s a social outing for them. I like to get in get out, but for some i can see it being their life.
how we get hyped landing a trick or stomping a cliff, probably the same thing for hitting a PR for these people. New gym gear like shoes belts whatever are like how we are into new boots and skis.
I imagine gym nuts think the same thing about skiers, a lot of people who don’t ski much think it’s bizarre to go every week, they see skiing as a vacation type deal.
I go to the gym and i ski, those are the main things that keep my occupied in the winter so i cant really put them against each other. Gotta say that I personally understand both sides of it because lifting weights is a lot more fun than skiers make it out to be and skiing is a lot more fun than weight lifters make it out to be
Sitting in the parking lot waiting for pain to subside from my feet. Got new footbeds and foam inserts on the heels, they help in some ways but really hurt the sides of my feet now. I literally can't drive yet. It would probably help if I made it to transitions instead of falling off rails early, smh my head
skierman_jackBut it’s okay when skiing is my whole personality right? Asking for a friend
Skiings a lot cooler
wanna slide down an open mountain on snow with the most beautiful way you can experience nature and go very fast and carve and leave the air and get to fly, and get up to the top of the hill on a couch that’s suspended way up in the air, and slide stuff like metal, plastic, concrete, wood and learn how to do tricks on those
or do you wanna lift heavy stuff all the time and contstantly dread doing so just so you can stare at yourself in the mirror and feel superior
idk I think the meaning of life is to do as much cool shit as possible

The only way to get truly good at something is to make it the only thing you do; monomania. I think its whack to hate on people for making an activity "the only thing they do". Obviously provided the activity isn't being destructive to themselves or others.
Most of the people who are into skiing or lifting or anything are tacky know nothing glop people who will quit within 5-10yrs. I guess you could call them "posers". You gotta just let them be and ignore em.
Gym culture is abysmal rn. If you walk into a gym right now you will find people with massive egos, narcissists, people only there to hangout, people only there to flirt, or people there to just fuckaround. You will also find people who fit these trophs at any ski area..
My one beef with lifting/gym rn though is the fucking aesthetic and style. Somehow gym went from wearing ripped stringers and using rust covered bars in a basement to working out in a mf gaming pc.
"Gym music" as a genre is some of the corniest shit you can be caught listening to and the fast fashion microplastic clothes they wear are even fucking goofier.
Agreed. It's a billion dollar industry feeding off people's insecurities now.
I like to show up in my dirty old clothes to remind people you don't need to look so fancy just to sweat.

Also today at the bop, some snowboard kid who looked to be a little younger than me, maybe 15 got all mad at me for speed checking a rail when he was riding my ass and tried to spray me and failed miserably. I skied away cause I’m not gonna beef with a dumbass kid over some stupid shit and instead he just catches up to me and tries to spray me again but fails and runs into my legs and calls me a pussy. I ignore him again, let him pass me in the lift line and I catch the chair behind him. I see him go into his bag at the top of Central Park to put his jacket away and then set his bag back down and ride off so I just picked up his bag and launched it into the woods as far as I could lmfao

I think I said this a while back but that’s the only reason I don’t love copper, it’s just so fast paced and every time you hit something there’s always some mf tailing you, if you go in the morning or afternoon it’s super nice tho

It would be rad as fuck if my neighbors downstairs weren't so fucking loud at every hour of the day. Doesn't matter if its 5am or past midnight, they still feel the need to watch TV with the surround sound on. I'm drop kicking their packages down the stairwell from now on.
finally a word to describe what I am going through. ever since I first clicked into a monoski I can’t stop thinking about mono. I have more days in the mono this year than I do on stereo skis. I want to monotize everything and start a monopoly and invest in real estate in Mono county California
switchlip2I hate being injured so much. I need to stop hitting my damn head
Feel this, been in a constant state of injury for over a year now and am so over it. It becomes really hard to break the cycle when it's one injury after another

Jus caught my property manager red handed syphoning electricity off my apartment. Noticed the electricity bill has been way high lately (3x higher than avg this past month) so I went downstairs to see what’s up.
lmfao, Tentmaker Property in Bozeman, ladies and gentlemen:
So what’s my next move? Do I extort them for cheaper rent, or do I just take them to court the old fashioned way?
Oh and some context for the pic: that’s the parking spot I pay to have access to, it’s right under my unit so the chord running down from the light is just taking electricity from my unit.
dickheads are violating my rental agreement AND commitining a crime by stealing power. If they fucked with the power bills at all then they’re catching a felony. Can’t wait to see how this one ends up. Ski town landlords can choke on it I stg.

i'd try to maneuver this into a special deal on your rent! get it in writing tho of course...

Where does the chord go? Also you pay for the spot and they park their shit in it?
ASSholebomber22Where does the chord go? Also you pay for the spot and they park their shit in it?
My apartment is directly above. The light is likely connected to my apartment and the chord is plugged into the light.
I don’t think any amount of falling asleep with the tv on or forgetting to turn off my kitchen light before leaving for the day would triple my electricity bill. But I’m not an electrician so idk.

if you have access to the breaker box you can probably check to make sure it is off your electric pretty easily. what do they have it plugged into?

I wouldn't recommend a handshake deal, this landlord sounds like he doesn't give a fuck and it could only be more ammo for him to use against you.
Absolutely reach out to an attorney that specializes in this and document everything, make copies of your lease agreement, and let the lawyer reach out on their behalf to your landlord/property managers. Some attorneys charge minimal fees and/or offer free legal counsel so look into that around Bozeman. Me and my sister had to do the same thing regarding a faulty irrigation system that wasn't included in our contract but was our responsibility somehow....Also multiple code violations. We were charged over 4k to fix it, got a mediator involved, and while we still have to pay this downright predatory shit, it could've been worse. It's still 1200 id like back in my bank account. SLC is no different either sadly.

1. Contact an electrician/friend to get the fax
2. Check on Public Defender/ Code Office (?)
3. Court not rent rebate... he'll think he got away with shit
Jemscurrently at the point to where I don't know if im gonna ski at all the new few years
i’m in that boat. leaving on an lds mission this summer and won’t be able to ski for the next two seasons at all if everything works out and i’m able to stay out there. pretty depressing ski-wise to be skipping out on buying a pass and new gear this spring
CoolChillGuy420I wish. I was gonna try out for their patrol this weekend but sadly I'm occupied.
I thought you got a gig at a hospital or ambulance or something that you were stoked on?? Theres a ton of nurses that i meet and they work 3 12s and have 4 days off. That seems pretty clutch for skiing and i was under the impression that EMS was similar.

ER Tech. It's a lot to take-in so far but it is so interesting and it provides so much learning experience. The only issue is I'm on the bottom of the totem pole as they say so a set schedule is hard to come by. It's a week-by-week availability thing. I'm just a rookie trying to figure it out ya
