I've never been to a ski camp in the summer before and after researching many different ones and finally getting enough money, I decided to go to their ski camp. For anyone whos been before how did you like it compared to other camps.. and what session should i go for?

last year i went for sessions 5 and 6 last year and had so much fun. i skied a total of 11 days compared to the 8 that one spends at windells. by far one of the best experiences i have had. the mhssc park has the best down rail on the mountain, the best flat rail on the mountain, and the best jumps on the mountain and we get to ski public park. the coaches are the best and overall the camp is about improving yourself. lots of stuff to do after skiing and has a way better tramp than windells. if you want to go to mount hood for kids to tell you how much better they are than you and follow pros around all day then this camp isnt for you.

on hill is super sick with smaller features but you can learn a lot more
off hill they have 2 super tramps i think? other then that though theres not to much but they always take you to other activities so its fun
i went 3 years ago and it was super fun but havent been able to go back

Kellen....I hope you don't tell him to go to Evolve instead. Seriously...get off Evolves DICK. You aren't gonna win the free session any easier by flaming every other summer camp option known to man.

On another note. HOOD is so fun. Whether you go to Windells or MHSSC, you're not going to regret it. The only people that have left camp bumming super hard on all the money they've spent (to my knowledge), was because they busted their shit on hill and left early because of it.

Most important, just go! You will regret it in years to come if you dont!

the only thing  that sucked about hood was that you had to ski all the way down to the lift and hike a little, or just hike all of the park. dont go if your not fit

If you sign up for the sessions from june to early july you absolutely dont have to hike one step.
You can ski all the way to the parking lot..and walk to the bus. come if your unfit. lol

MHSSC is the best, this year will be my 5th year going. I live in portland and when im not at camp I can still go up to the glacier anyway, and in my opinion the best/ most fun time to be up there is late june and early july.

Trust me, you will have the best time ever at MHSSC...its a great experience.

Last year I went to MHSSC for 2 sessions in early to mid july, all in all it was a sick experience and I am planning to go again this year for another 2 sessions. The coaches, Counselors, CIT''s and Campers are all generally sick people who are super chill. No matter what your skiing in the summer so it will be super fun. that being said the MHSSC and Public park are both insane and easily one of the best parks I have ridden. Just go you will meet cool people and progress a ton if your really trying to.
If you're Nervous then don't be before I went I was extremely nervous for various reasons you can probably guess, At the end there was no reason for me to be I met a bunch of cool people and skiied with the best skiiers I have ever ridden with.
GO you will have a blast if you have the right attitude.

Most days of the week a bus will probably stop in govy before heading back to our campus for afternoon activities. In Govy there are cobra dogs, a sick taco stand, pizza stand, pizza in govy general, huckleberry inn for huckleberry shakes, volcano cones..so yes every day you can buy whatever food you want. then next to our campus is a gas station where you can buy energy drinks, snacks, etc. anytime of the day.

It depends on the week but usually their are baby jumps at the top and then at the bottom a three line which is like 20-35 40-45 50-60 and jumps are defintely bigger in the beginning of the summer

watching yourself on video, getting coached and skiing for days consecutively improves your skiing by so much compared to going once or twice during a week throughout parts of your season.

its the chillest, you wake up at about 7 and eat breakfast and make sandwiches for the day. you get up to the mountain at about 9 and either take laps till the park opens or just chill in the lodge.

after skiing you take the bus down to govy on most days and chill there for about a while( just with friends, no hand holding from camp staff) then you get back and tramp or skate or play basketball. on some days you also do activities that can range from tramping, to cliff jumping, to paintball, to whitewater rafting. its usually pretty hard to choose which activities to do since they all kick ass, but i love cliff jumping.

then you get back and eat dinner and just hang out until lights out.

overall it is a super-chill experience.

another few points to consider
* skating the mini pipe is super fun, even if you suck(i know this from experience)
*the tramp at MHSSC cant be topped, honestly its one of the best parts
*free soda fountain 24/7 (compared to other camps where you have to buy shit)

this is just a short summery of what makes MHSSC great, and i probably left out so much more.

A perfect thread for me.

Up untill today i didnt know anything of MHSCC, i was adamant i was gonna book at week at Windels. Now, so sure MtHood is the place.

When your actually there, will i have to spend any money while at the camp?

I will be renting ski's there. Are the ski's available a good standard or should i try and rent a demo ski from a local store?

So so pumped to learn how to flip!!

Trampoline lessons? Have tried getting intouch with local Gymnastic clubs to find specialised flip/aerial lessons. To no avail yet.

Any ideas?
