Pow haters

So I'm on the lift today and we are talking about going out of bounds to ski some freshies and this guy next to me says that pow sucks and that it's all about park. Later in the day I'm with one of my boarder friends and I'm talking to him about it and he says that he also hates pow. How is that even possible? Thought please.

i live in new hampshire and we get about 1 or 2 good snow storms a year and for the 3 to 4 days after that everybody is in the woods shreding every inch of anything close to pow and i have never heard of people hating pow

this whole thread is really fuckin dumb. it just boils down to some people trying to change someone else's opinions. it will never be resolved so just do what you want to do and it will be fine. personally, ill ski pow when its there but sometimes its just nice to just lap the park when no ones around. i can get just as stoked of skiing jumps or hiking rails as i can skiing pow.

I dont know about everyone else but i would choose pow over park any day. ya park is fun but its more work and everything feels more stiff and confined. in pow, you can just relax, float around, jump off of stuff and ride away without feeling anything. its so much more fun. I still like park, but pow is just amazing. I don't understand how any of your boarder friends can hate powder, you really don't need any different equiptment as long as your not using a super stiff board.

just agree wholehartedly with any "pow haters" and get them to tell their freinds how much pow sucks, then proceed to shred endless untracked lines because everyone thinks it sucks.

summary:
1. Agree with pow haters
2. Get them to tell everyone that pow sucks

this happens to me too. we usually ride in the park most of the day but then my friends make fun of me for wanting to ride pow on snowy days. they don't like it cause they suck at it and don't wanna look bad, its ridiculous

Yeah, just a little...

And even for a Connecticutian like myself, glades covered in icy hardpack, icy drifts, and patches of dead leaves and showing is still pretty damn fun.

You are a fool if you don't take some park laps on a pow day. Best days in the park are when there is pow. Do I stay in the park all day? No, but I'm not going to completely disregard it because there is powder.

well if you are lazy you ski park, people setup jumps for you and maintain them too. I am a lazy slob so i stay in the park, but if you are a badass who can ski anything and deal with stressful situations where there is no ski patrol, then you go for the deeps. As i said, i am a lazy person, i ski where ski patrol can find me.

if you only ski park and nothing else you are a very limited skier. you shouldnt be able to call yourself a freestyle skier. your a park skier. to be a true freestyler, or at least a respected one, you need to be versatile and able to ski in more conditions than a groomed park. pow is the greatest thing in the world, end of story

I think the problem is that many people don't know HOW to ski pow. It seems simple to us, but if you dont do it right, you might have a miserable day
