so i shredded my local mtn (park) friday saturday and sunday, and so like an idiot all tired and sore end of the day sunday i hit this gnar dfd tube, get my leg stuck underneath somehow and my leg gets wacked HARD on the vertical support bar. went to the doctors today and i fractured my fibula and will out for at least 6 weeks. so bummed. the plus side is that i dont need surgery or a cast, just gotta wear a brace for 6 weeks and rock crutches. ive never broken a bone until now so it sucks. anyone else have any shitty injuries recently?

I broke my tib and fib last september and was skiing by january, so you'll be back out there soon enough. do you need surgery?

dude i broke my tib fib last month and wont beable to ski till march. im sorry bro but recovery sucks. i had surgery too got some screws and a rod in my leg

this wasn't recent, but i broke my leg in third grade and it sucked hard core had a cast for like 8 months. Drove me away form skiing for four years :(

I just fractured my tailbone. I've been skiing on it, but I seem to re-injure that shit every time i ski. I can hardly sit down haha.

Positive vibes man!

I encountered a type II ankle sprain on my right foot on the tramp the other day. Decided to hit it up to get some practice and stoke for opening day, now I'll probably miss it :(

It's been almost 3 days and I still limp like a mofo. I'll only be out for a week or two, but I'm bummed I won't be up their with my buds shredding on day 1.

I messed my MCL up two weeks ago hitting urban, but was lucky enough to find out it was only sprained. Hopefully you have the same luck as me. I carved some turns today and its a little sore now but I only missed one weekend and I figure I can hit some mellow park tomorrow. Good luck homie.

i hit broke my fibula doing a cork 7 into a pit and hittin the side wall of the pit. did it in august... they said it was just a sprain, played soccer on it in 5 weeks, another month later went to an ortho surgeon to see if it was torn, found out it was broken, finished soccer cuz it was state playoffs, got a cast for 3 weeks, now im able to ski moderately hard.

sorry to hear it...

over a few years i dislocated my kneecap about 4 or 5 times. 2 months ago the surgeon said something needed to be done. 2 weeks later i was on the table. its called a tibial tuberoscity. they cut out the end of the tibia (where the ligament is attached) and moved it into a more medial position (inwards) then screwed it into place with 2 screws. then they cut the lateral quads and tightened the medial ones. spent 4 days in hospital, 2 weeks pretty much immobile at home and i got off crutches and out of the brace 3 days ago. bit swollen but looking good, and hopefully i wont dislocate the patella any more.

as for passing the time for those 6 weeks it gets pretty hard. i got sick of tv shows and ended up making a model plane. not the most interesting thing in the world but at least it was productive. oh and i spent a lot of time on the net

I just got my MRI results back from my dislocated kneecap. Luckily no tears or bone chips, but I severely bruised the bones in my knee, and although my knee feels completely fine now, I cannot ski for 4-6 weeks, and I cannot ski park, at least for the rest of this season. Whats better than fucking up both ski seasons of your first 2 years of college.

Yeah man, broke my tibia last march and had internal bleeding. I had 4 surgeries in 9 days, not fun at all, but i worked hard and got right back to it this season.

i dislocated my patella, and hyper extended my ACL and VCM. out of skiing for a month, looks like i might not be able to go to Vancouver at the end of January like i was planning to. shit :/

Me to. You fall feel something go wrong and it hurts like a bitch and as soon as that happens you get pissed and sort of forget about the pain and all you can think about is whether or not the injury is going to have a major impact on your season or not. Such a skier mindset especially at the beginning of the season. Anyway, Vibes to everyone in this thread because it makes me sad.
