Have you ever experienced "twin-tip prejudice?"

Yo fellow ns peeps

Just wondering if you've ever experienced "twin-tipprejudice?"

For example have you ever beenhated on for "spraying up too much snow" behind you (because of theskis design)? or have you had lift attendants complain when you separate yourskis cos they're too fat to fit in normal ski racks on gondola lifts?

Both these happened to me in a bigway over the 08/09 season ( the latter example resulted me in having a fullblown argument in French in February this year!) is it just me or is there sucha thing as "twin-tip" prejudice going on in our modern skiingsociety?

No...I haven't, but I did get some funny looks at my 25 year old Olin's and my ghetto boots! I finally splurged on new skis this past winter....K2 Burnin Luvs, and they are amazing! I'm keeping my old stuff for gaper day for my son Hahahaha! And actually, I'm still using the ghetto boots as they are still very comfortable and warm, so whats the difference right?

There's a fat bitch at mammoth that loads the bottom gondola. Everytime I try to bring in my hellbents (so they aren't in the rack, where they don't fit) she insists on trying to grab them and shove them in, then tries to put them in the snowboard rack. No, I won't let you put my skis in the snowboard rack, where they get hacked to shit or fall out. Learn your lesson. My skis are as fat as you and the only fit inside.

I swear it will happen when you are taking 10 minute laps. she sees me over and over again and every time. Bitch won't learn.

Haha this is true...i go to scecgs and they take u down for the interschools. I go cause it lets me have more time at the snow but they make u do certain races like downhill. I love coming in my twins while they all rock up with the skis on the shoulder so funny. Some people at my school take shit too seriously. I beat 4 people from my school who were using brand new skis boots poles and race suit, i used 2 season old twins and baggy clothes.
And the racers that push in piss me off next time they try just tell em to fuck of that what ever it is they are doing doesnt affect you so they can wait like everybody else or something

My brother gets pissed whenever I am skiing in front of him because my spray is so big. It's kinda fun making a small turn on the cat-track and hearing all of the your friends behind you groan as the spray gets them in the face. I'm sure other people are bothered too, but they never get the chance to say anything.

i get yelled at for skiing in the woods in CT, which the patrollers should just leave us alone. one guy woudln't let me and my friends on the lift with 1 ski. so we went to the next lift over and went up lol.

at my hill there is this group of old fuckers (we call them the icelantic patrol), 1 day my friend and i popped out of some trees onto a run and landed switch, big deal right? well these guys were 100ft up hill not moving at all, they ski up to us at the lift and start yelling at us

them-Hey dumbasses you could have killed us!
me-um....ok?
them-you should be banned from here for almost hitting us because you wanted to look cool and ski bakwards with your bright cloths that are to big! were gonna get ski patrol
me-fuck off *sits down on the chair*

they always get pissed cuz they wait inline on pow days for like 2 hours to get first chair and my friend is a lifty so he will let cut the line and get first sometimes haha

when i first got my 04 teneighties i got a ton of comments from old ladies "whoa i like your green skis...did you paint them that way?" or dudes in blue jeans and nfl jackets "why do they go up in the back too?"

in the past couple years the comments have subsided but i still get a couple a year. but lately id say that having twins has been beneficial.  I get lifts on snowmobiles all the time at breck when the lines are crowded cause i dont look like an idiot gapper.

I have extremely recognizable pants for that reason, I never get checked twice by the same liftie.  On the other hand, patrol recognizes me too... but they're chill, and it's nice to be seen on a deep day, laying face down in the snow.

soooo true. and the little ''team'' racers who are about 5-12 years old get taken through the park for no fucking reason.

i got seriously fucked up by getting cut off by one of their coaches right before a jump and i was about to do a 7.  all the lil "racers" were like ooooOOOOOoooo  youre so good! to their coach then they looked at me (LYING ON THE GROUND SWEARING AT THE COACH) and proceeded to tell me 1 by 1 that i was a shit skier.    FUKING GAPER COACHES!!!

Never really had a problem, more complements than anything...I do see some kids wearing twins do stupid shit when there's too many people around but that wouldn't change no matter what they're riding...

yea... some ski areas make me just bring my skis into the gondola and other random gapers stare at my shiny colored skis when they dont realize there 80s jackets are just as shiny...

haha. i love to run down spraying gapers or just almost hit people goin switch, and then a couple lift rides you end up on the same lift as those same people you just sprayed or almost hit, and they're so intimidated...haha

word, some of the race coaches at my resort have decided its good practice to take their kids through the smaller park and use it as a skier-cross course... i.e. bomb all the jumps/rollers and then straightline through all the rails at top speed. like really?
but other than little stuff like that everyone is pretty chill... although one lifty always gives us shit for lapping the park and not going to ski "real terrain", but thats about it.

never go to belleayre on a saturday because the racers are trainging then and they are all over the mountain, go on sundays because they are always just on the race course. I just hate when they go into the park at the end of though, i just love seeing them fall though,

A long time ago a guy in the gondola line told me my Rossi Scratchs, the ones with the naked lady that are red/highlighter yellow were offensive. I then got bitched at by a lifty because they didn't fit into the gondola right. This was before they were as widespread an there were about 3-4 kids around me that had twins. Bummer.

This isn't prejudice, it's more of an older man being proud of skiing.  I was standing at the bottom waiting for some one late season (late march) last season.  There was like no one there but this man probably around 60 comes up to me in his bright outerwear and rear-entry white boots and all old school stuff and he was so pumped that I, a youngin, was on skis.  He was like "Skis huh?  Isn't everybody all about those snowboards now?"  I was like "No man, skiing is where it is."  It was kinda cool.  He was saying how he never sees kids on skis anymore (it's CT, snowboarding is still so cool and skiing si so lame).

this one is regarding the race coach bringing the whole team into the park.  My mountain now requires a park pass, and I am at teh bottom one day, and I see teh race coaches handing out park passes to all the racers.  Even my friend that is on the race team thought it was bullshit because all the racers, regardless of age/ ablility, gat a pass without even watching the stupid video or taking the stupid test.  Neither did I b/c my dad is a ski instructor but I know the rules and such.  But every once in a while the race coaches bring every single 6-12 year old racer into teh park.  The park crew explains to them every time about the rules (ie. not going off the sides of the jumps) and they still do it. They get in teh way, and teh coaches are so inconsiderate.  Last year our jumps were side by side, so the coach would stand on the bigger jump and wave all the little pieces of shit down one by one as all 50 of them went over the jump.  Pisses me off so much.  Of course, there are alwasy the 1 or 2 10 year olds that actually hit everything which is sick, but the rest need to gtfo.  /rant.
