Have you ever experienced "twin-tip prejudice?"

Yo fellow ns peeps

Just wondering if you've ever experienced "twin-tipprejudice?"

For example have you ever beenhated on for "spraying up too much snow" behind you (because of theskis design)? or have you had lift attendants complain when you separate yourskis cos they're too fat to fit in normal ski racks on gondola lifts?

Both these happened to me in a bigway over the 08/09 season ( the latter example resulted me in having a fullblown argument in French in February this year!) is it just me or is there sucha thing as "twin-tip" prejudice going on in our modern skiingsociety?

i got told i needed to put mudflaps on the back of my skis cuz they spary so much snow, but thats not really hatin on twins.

agree with some parts and i actually have something to add to your argument against me. I think race training is a good place to learn how to ski.. I strongly dislike freestylers that never learned how to ski correctly.
obviously you don't mount a race ski forward.

with that said think i need to clarify my point as far as the specific type of kid with not so center mountain twin tips. Where i ski (australia) there is a very specific stereo type racer. He is about 13, he owns 3 pairs of gs skis, 2 pairs of slalom, 2 pairs of old rock hoppers (dont wanna ruin my race skis that will be replaced next year anyways) and 1 pair of "not so center mounted twins". He has purchased them simply to ski backwards in an attempt to do it the correct way. I really wish i could find a picture. It just kinda annoys me. They also have no clue as to park etiquette, and they think they own the park. some times they go for a little jump absorbing session.

do you know the type?

MOstly in pre season at loveland because there are like 67958 racers from around the world just glaring at you because our clothes are bigger and we "got them fancy double ended skis" actual quote from some gaper

hey whats with the hate on mad river. its one of the best ski hills in vt. unlike pretty much every other resort in the world. they arent in it for the money. i skied there for 5 years and everyone is pretty chill and its like a family but if your are a douche to someone you know you are going to get something back.

i love sitting on crakenback chair in thredbo and watching the racers ski down to the course with thier race skis on thier shoulder so not to ruin the nice wax job, 13 year old kids from knox or scegs who then proceed to wash out on all thier turns.

i was waiting in the lift line and a bunch of racers pushed in, looked at me and said that they should go first as they have important things to do on the mountain, then feel down when leaving the lift.

most people are pretty chill, because I do my best not to ride the lifts with gapers.  I'll ride with patrol and with people on fatties, twins, or fat twins, or just people who aren't falling over in the liftline.

I have had it happen though- the best was when I rode with a gaper, and he must have read the sign that says "snowboarders put your highbacks down".  He told me to put my highbacks down.  I asked him what he was talking about, and he stabs my "highbacks" with his pole. 

I decided to play along, and asked him if he thinks it's logical that you should put your highfronts down as well.  he looked at me like I'm some kind of moron...  I laughed so hard in my head.

i was at gore, and the lifty was getting so pissed when he couldn't fit my skis in the gondy slots, he tried jamming them in like 4 times, then eventually had to separate them

i strongly disagree with you. I think its the fact that a majority of us wear excessivly baggy gear and how we ride the skis. Its not that they hate twin tips just the way some people use them.

Thats exactly what we have here in the UP, those asshats get so fucking annoying.

But to be on topic, most patrollers around here hate freeskiers. A lot of people are afraid to ride up with me because I ride twins, go in the park and have baggier clothes than them, as in they go out of their way to avoid riding up with me. And then if they do end up with me, they refuse to talk to me, which gets annoying to me because I'm actually a really friendly and talkative person.

definitely a ton of issues with gondolas. Lifties hate all of us because it takes up room and then they always decide to take the skis and jam them into one slot and it pisses me off. They jam them in and then half way up the ride they start to like fall out of the slot haha it sucks and i know what you mean, its becoming a real issue with me and my friends haha

i remember riding up with one gaper, and he said this exact line "where did u get those skis, or what u call skis, they should be burned to maker better skis" very awkward lift ride, he kept staring at my invaders, im sure he was getting a boner from the wrestlers on them haha

generaly the mt snow liftys are really chill but i always get yelled at for my roster tails or for riding switch.  i got yelled at by "a mt snow ambassador" (biggest a holes on the planet) for riding switch for a few minutes to watch my little cousin to make sure she didnt fall... i told the guy "we can ski better backwards then half these people can forwards so shut the hell up"

people seem to think that my tips are there to act as a brake for them. so they keep slamming into the back of my skis to hold themselves. i usually do one of three things. talk about how much i hate people hitting my tips. give them looks of hatred or plant my poles and give a solid push back up the slope. its usually kids so they usually slide back a bit

this wasn't in the lift line.
it was in the park, i was parked with my camera towards the side of the park, and this kid just couldn't stop, or turn.

oh i know. one time i was like in a group of like 15 kids and the lift operator called me out just cause i had the baggiest shit.
