Marine died.

i didn't know him personally but a marine from a neighboring command on my base died the other day on the way to work on his streetbike. cops estimated he was going 90+. its a horrible story, his wife is pregnant and all. just putting this out so you guys remember to make good decisions. you should never speed cause your in a rush, MAKE A PHONE CALL. you should never rush to work during rush hour(which around a navy base is like 6-7am.)

i'm still planning on buying a gsx600 but stories like that make me think twice.

Damn.. I guess that's always in the back of my mind but I never really think too hard about it.. I do some stupid stuff on bikes too..

man the fucked up shit with the wife is that we have a 400,000 life insurance policy even in cases like that because he was wearing the proper protective gear. the thing is, he didn't listen to the higher ups and update his policies every year like they hound us to do all the time. he had his next of kin as his reciever which ISNT your wife, its your parents then brother or sister etc, ya dig? and his wife is 38 weeks pregnant. assed out. fucking sucks man. gives me goosebumps.

thats the reason the military makes us sit through all that pointless training about updating your policies and making wills. its a dangerous job, on and off. make smart choices, listen to your higher up. wear proper PPE (proper protective equipment) for the activity your doing. whether its a dirtbike or wearing a hardhat while we build shit (i work in a construction battallion in the navy).

ok enough depressing shit.

That is really too bad, I feel terrible for his family. If I were to somehow die on my bike I would feel so bad for my family, idk. Definatley does make me think twice about a sport bike, but damn I want one!

but seriously, streetbikes seem to me like cheap speed, but in the end its not worth it at all.  like whats the point? so you look cool pulling into a gas station? fuck that, if i wanna go fast i'll ride a street bike on a track or something.  just everyone ride with your heads up okay? i dont wanna hear any NS streetbike crash stories!
