Free ringtones?

Before you say searchbar, I already did, i saw the mymxer.com and i tried it and they dont do verizon anymore. So how can i get free or make my own ringtones? I found out one way but its really crappy quality. And i dont want to download a program thats gana give me crap on my computer or send crap to my phone...

1. alright first you need an mp3 file, pretty easy to find, if your song isnt .mp3 convert it.
2. Now go to http://www.myxertones.com/make
3. Click browse and choose your mp3 file.
4. enter your 10 digit phone number
5. Click submit and ENJOY

pardon. You wanna give me karma :)

sorry to be blunt, but if you click download then send the file through a email to your phone it works fine, havent used it in a while cause ringtones are annoying

they do verizon. you have to up load. it will covert the file. then do send to phone. then it will come up saying download ringtone. download. then it willl have  yourphonenumberhere@vzwpix.com. put that into your email send thingy and attach the ringtone from sed folder. press send

Get some basic audio editing software, make an mp3 and email it to yourself, if you dont know your cell phone's email address, send a text message to your normal email address

edit your song to the parts you want in the ring tone. then email the mp3 file to your phone. whats your provider? to email it, it would be like 1234567890@txt.att.net but its a different @___ for different providers of course. then the text will play the music, and you go to options and save it as a ringtone, or atleast thats what i do with my verizon

You can either send it as a text and download it you they can email it to you and you transfer it to your phone.

I just made one, I got the ringtone I wanted, but it sounded like it was recorded in a wind tunnel during the Super Bowl halftime show, I mean seriously...Is there any way to better the quality? I used the mobile17.com site, by the way..

never worked for me.
i uploaded it, it said it was successful but i never actually got it on my phone.
yes, the number was correct
and i followed all the instructions.


anyways, mythreads.
i hate paying for the lame ringtones that verizon makes that are always the shittiest part of the song.

the problem is on Verizon's end. when you send it to your phone via email. it changes the format to a spoken word format called QCP. it is a mono format and compresses the hell out of the file. my suggestion is to just hit up buy.com for a USB data cable for your phone and use BitPim to do it all. you can trim ringtones right in itunes.

Maybe it is just verizon, because I have AT&T and it works fine for me.
