Corey Vanular in Long Story Short!

Who agrees with me that Vanular's segment in LSS is one of the sickest park segments of all time? He got it all in in only a few days and it's ill. He doesn't have a single switch hit, but it's still so progressive, especially considering it was in the 05/06 season. The entire segment just oozes style and technicality. What's everyone's thoughts on it?
If anyone has a vid or a link of his segment, post it up for sure!

No doubt! I'm loving the afterbang on his cork 9 too! Every trick he does on to that flat down box is still progressive and nuts for today even. Berman picked such a sick song for the segment too: DL Incognito - New Era.
I'm thinking that Vanular will make a huge come back from his injury and be one of the best hands down this year!

He had opening segment in Shanghai Six right? But ya it was sick for sure! Shanghai Six was my first ski movie ever! LVV, Griffin, Matt, and Joe definitely hooked me up with it in my first year at COC and i've been a Level 1 fan since!

corey vanular does a 1080 in the halfpipe like rodney mullen does a kickflip ever since high five and the 2005 xgames i thought corey was probly the most talented skier in the world just by how he landed tricks like they were so easy for him. and yeah he pretty much proved it in lss.

To me it it the segment that I show people that don't know anything about freeskiing. It's the segment I've watched the most. I could probably watch it everyday for the rest of my life

well if you've not familar keystone you could easily think the jumps were there at the same time (like for the real time superpark they had two huge jumps and a more normal table to start it off), and many people didn't know that those barrels were at eclipse at the time.

ah ok..yeah i'm about 10000km away and haven't seen Keystone in person..I remember hearing that Corey got injured when they were shooting LSS so were super limited in the footage they could use
Either way, I can see why Keystone have such a good rep when it comes to park building and design!!

new park manager last year...(rolls eyes), while the jumps were even better, he set up a lot of snowboard friendly features, and had no sense of flow that keystone had in years past, favoring clumps of jibs instead of lines, with them sometimes getting in each others way, also the area under the big jumps was neglected most of the year in favor of the side run up by the pipe...meaning you had to skip the jumps to go hit bunch of the rails, i think it will improve though, the guy's from bear, and just went off what he did before, instead of using all of keystones resources and strengths...hopefully we'll see some of the rails that were never set up last year.

Well fingers crossed for a cracker 08-09 season then..sounds like there is some great opportunity for a killer park format there.

oh, there definitely is a ton of potential, having a park lift is the shit, you get like 3 times as many laps as you would lapping freeway at breck. and night skiing has potential too, though they need more cat time...it would be sweet if they did a quick groom through the park at like 4ish and just shut it down for like 1/2 hour to get out ruts and stuff that cant be fixed by hand, that would definitely make night riding more enjoyable.

any grooming other than first run would be enjoyable. but its keystone. their park crew is about as ambitious as the stoners they employ haha. at least it got better as the season went on but too many slow train snowboarders ruin the rails and boxes and 5050 tracks riddle all approaches. while lap time maybe faster at keystone on slow days it still gets busy and the park lift is slower than taking peru from the bottom. breck pwnzors. sorry for the offtopic post in relivance to the orginal thread.

That's the best part about L1P. Their editing is spot on and the skiing always matches the beat.

Finally a thread on the subject.
I've been saying for years that Corey's parts in Shanghai and LSS are hands down some of the sickest skiing ever.
The first hit that he pulls in Shanghai six, where he hits those two consecutive handrails was probably the sickest way to open a movie of all time.
He was really good in Realtime Too... although he was hurt much of the season still.

that was one of the best segments of the year for sure. In fact it is one of my favorites still to this day.

That rail set is in St. Catherines (as were almost all the urbans from that segment), and that Dilated Peoples song is such an awesome song to ski to.
Vanular is definitely a very good skier.

Such a sick segment.
Thomas' that leads it off is really good as well. I think I'll watch it.
And coincidentally, I'm listening to the Maserati song from the Turbo trailer.

LSS had probably the best closing segment ever. Vanular and co absolutely destroyed, the music was perfect, nothing gets me more stoked. 540 nose drag over the barrels is one of the dirtiest things I've ever seen.
