Welcome to the live chat with Sammy Carlson, who's here in Mammoth as part of the Jib Academy 2008 Finale. The Salomon team is here along with a ton of groms that just got finished slaying it on a private jump this morning.

Do you think that kids that really start skiing often at the age of say 18 still have a chance in the biz or is it a handicap for someone who was not pro when they were young guns?

yeah dude ill answer your question i think you knw what i think.
if i coudl go out all year long and shoot with one company and only compete at x games i would!!! BUt it doesnt work like that. sponsors want more from you because there paying you money. personally i think a video segment does a whole lot more for me than a comp result but some people think differently

yeah that sucks about high north that camps was sick!
but x games man not neccessarily surprised but just went completely the oppossite way i wanted it to you knw. like i think about winning x games, not for my sponsors, just growing up i was so stoked on the x games every winter they come on see all the new tricks, X GAMES are Dope!

i just like to watch skiing that looks good. it doesnt matter i saw a cab 12 today from henrik harlaut that was 4bi9ed you get what im saying, it was sick!
but for me i ussually try and keep it smooth at all times and grab the shit out of it.

What was the biggest surprise for you this year dealing with skiing.
For me, it was High North shutting down.

Yeah! thats what im trying to do. its super hard to get going but were getting there, this summer were going to push some stuff up for an ultimate summer session keep on the look out for that. but its going to be on hood and I got a really good crew of people and were stoked to start up a camp just for skiers.
its going to be super cool its taking a while to get it going just because we want to do it the right way, its going to be sick!
b ut ill let you all knw more about that when its going down
