Pretty much self explanatory, definitely a must watch for anyone following the GOP candidates as well as anyone who lives in America or for that case anyone in the world who wants to.  Tonight at 8:00 EST on CNN (its another youtube questions debate).  Should be good although I'm not a fan of Anderson Cooper!

Then be able to have lower taxes and less debt because of less unnecessary spending and more freedom because of less government bureaucracy.  Ron Paul is a big advocate of states' rights.

A declaration of faith is not the same as a declaration of knowledge...not that I would expect you to understand that. Most the self proclaimed atheists (the majority of whom are teenage pseudo-intellectuals) don't understand that.

He is of the opinion of inelegant design because, for example, things like evolution do not account for things like creation, consciousness, and morality. Is that really unreasonable? Also, as he says, it really is a trivial issue in the grand scheme of things when it comes to running a country.

This could be blown into a whole other thread, but its unnecessary to the discussion at hand, and frankly I think you would be out of your depth in such a discussion.

under his administration sales taxes would likely go up, but with income tax gone, no one would care.

I'm not so sure Ron Paul is an advocate of states' rights, it's more that that what the US was built off of.  but ya

ya it is.  Although there are some older people, he does have young fans.  If you look at history, it is almost always the younger people, the college demographic, that wants change.  They realize what they could have and that they don't have to stand for what they currently have.

You have no idea what you are talking about, the IRS is an unconstitutional organization  that is used to levy  unconstitutional taxes (like the estate tax and income tax) on to the people of the U.S. The IRS doesn't need to exist for this country to run and it didn't actually exist until 1862, thats almost an entire century without it. It is true though that the government still needs to exist and still needs money to function but you can have plenty of funds just by cutting the IRS cutting spending and replacing existing taxes with alternative taxes like the Fair Tax or any sort of Excise Tax.

So if you're going to rat on Ron Paul about taxes and the government please have a legitimate argument

Also the income tax was actually declared unconstitutional by the supreme court in 1894, and wasn't implemented until 1913 with the passage of the 16th Amendment.

i am saying that there are two distinct demographics of college people.  There are "politically aware" people and there are of course "politically unaware" people.  The deomgraphic of "politically aware" college people are very likely to want change, stand up for their individual rights, take strong political stances, and vote.

So while college kids in general don't vote much, there is one distinct group that does and goes beyond what the average "politically aware" person does.

So people in the same age group that are more "politically aware" are more likely to vote? Way to go out on a limb. That makes college age people no different from any other demographic in the book. So what exactly is your point?

The only groups that have less turnout (in simple numbers) are the two oldest demographics, yet they have a better turnout percentage wise.

All that says is that they seem to be more active than the stereotype. However, in which case the percentage of registered voters would be a far more accurate measuring stick than a survey pool of 1,000 people. There is a large margin for error in the data collection.

Regardless, that still doesn't compare them to any other demographic. So what makes them so special?

Obviously I have some idea about what I'm talking about, saying its an unconstitutional organization is purely opinion. Comparing pre-1862 to 2007 is just fucking stupid. well the truth is, if we get out of iraq and quit spending on ridiculous programs then no, an IRS is not needed.  And just so you guys don't think Ron Paul is crazy with this idea, it was made by a group of professors from MIT, Harvard, and Princeton.  Mike Huckabee also wants this "fair tax" program.  You make it seem like he is all alone on this issue.  I remember watching an episode of "Kudlow and Company" and every guy there said that the "fair tax" program is brilliant.

because republicans realize that this was made up to create part of a platform for a couple pathetic liberals to run on.  global warming has become a more political thing than anything else its not aobut the contry its about these liberals getting votes saying how bad global warming is.

that's why i hate it when they call it global warming. it goes so much farther than just "warming". It should be changed to Global Destruction.  Problems like pollution of our water systems and deforestation are also part of the issue but never get talked about or adressed since "Global Warming" has become so politicized.

i dont know where people are still getting the idea that global warming is a farce that doesnt exist. I am a biology major at a very conservative college and EVERY SINGLE PROFESSOR understands that global warming is an issue that needs to be dealt with. Most people dont understand that we are currently living in the largest mass extinction the world has ever gone through. I know it sounds Armageddon-ish, but the fact of the matter is that its true. Conservatives that dont have any other knowledge than what they hear in political arenas are just saying, "well that cant be true. I just heard it from a liberal. Its the main stream media." Holy shit. Open up your eyes to see what is really going on and dont politicize it like everything else these days.

oh comon.  for anyone to say that they know one way or the other is being ignorant.  A leading climatologist at MIT says that he doesn't think it is likely and even if it is the effects would not be that bad.  Also the last president of NASA has said he doesn't think it is likely at all (these are just a couple of the many respected people who don;t think global warming is a real threat) There is evidence both ways. I'm not saying they is right but I do think it is still a very debatable topic and to say that just because your professors think it is true (from who knows what college), then it is true, is not a good way of making a decision.

I am not saying that I have irrefutable evidence that global warming is figured out. What I am saying is that there is overwhelming evidence suggesting that something is going on and that because it has been made a political issue, there are many people that are just ignoring that evidence.

We know that global warming is happening. The Earth's climate is in a warming stage, as it has beens since the last Ice Age. That is not up for debate.

What IS up for debate is whether or not humans are causing it, and what the effects will be. Anyone who says what will and won't happen is merely supposing. That isnt to say it isnt happening.

Looking bad in this argument? You are just making an entirely different argument rather than understanding the point that I was trying to make. The quotes that you used from me were not saying that I had global warming/ causes of/ solutions to solve global warming all figured out. I fully understand that I dont, nor does any other human being on the earth. The point that I was making was that since this topic has been hashed out by politicians, it is much harder for people to understand and accept that the climate, for whatever reason, is changing rapidly because they feel that it is against their partisan beliefs. Nothing more nothing less.

no that is not entirely the argument.  If you look at the earth's average temperature, it always fluctuates.  For example, during the Middle Ages, the earth's temperature was higher than it is today.  the argument is more than just if we are causing it.

there are many arguments: is it real, if so is it us, should the government pay to take care of it?  I was just pointing out that nobody knows for sure if there is global warming and that saying (like he did) that there is definitely global warming is being ignorant because there are facts supporting both sides.  Nobody can know for sure yet.  I've said the same thing like 3 times.

As for why it is not bad to have the college age voter majority, I either saw that on tv, or i read it somewhere.  I'll look for it if you really want.
