STFU NOOB
jk, i dont see the hype either. but other than 9thward, his record label, and being a thug, theres not much question as to why he's popular

it's hands down the best park skiing part ever. i can back up that statement with a list of reasons, but i'd rather stop typing and just watch it again.

the reason why there's still hype around mikael? STYLE...he was ahead then and is still being imitated today. that's still one of, if not the best switch ten i've seen.

Best switch 10 and rodeo 7 I have ever seen.

yea no shit. none of the parts back then were good compared to the average free skier today. that part is the definition of style, and when it was created.

Mickael was so far ahead of his time. it is not just hype from skiers on this site, listen to other pros who skied with him. In my opinion that is the best compliment you can get and he is very well respected for what he brought to the sport from a stylistic standpoint. At a time when skiers were just trying to learn a trick and then move to the next one, mickael was making it them look good. Maybe some of you are too young to have seen him at the USOpen or to even have watched him roll through a park on a randome day, but it was something incredible. Do yourselves a favor and grab royalty, stereotype, and the 2 minutes he has in strike 3 and think about what you were doing in 2001 and 2002.

yea strike 3 was pretty good. he was gangster before it was popular. i think him and dumont were the only ones wearing baggy clothing
beyond that his style is what stands out. he'll never be a technical skiier, he could but just like t heed they care about style

stereotype is sooo sick. and how can you people forget his seg in 1242.

i liked dumont in those days, i don't like his style and things as much now

...the fuck you talking 'bout? mickael has every single little technical aspect of park skiing on lock. he carves perfectly in and out of every trick, his grabs are as on point as can be, and tell me, how are cab d-spin 10 blunts landed to perfection not technical? mickael IS technical perfection, which is why his style is out of this world.

or nose butters on with switch ups...but that's just corked or switch rodeo, not really a d-spin, but still real tech anyway.

technical = tom wallisch superunknown video
not that you can really compare today with then, thats what i mean. he was more focused on style on rails than say, 360 switch up

no, it is switch d-spin since he goes fully inverted. if you saw it at the open you know that what he did there is still not replicated by anyone today. switch rodeo would have been less inverted.

T-heed had shit off jumps, dont even compare the two. Mike D. slays on every aspect of skiing. That switch 10 wasnt techy enough for you? And who cares if he's gone too thug for his own good and wears shirts that say " I AM GHETTO" hes the same person. His style was unmatched for his era, so dont go saying his part "wasnt even that good" because its bullshit.

he's fantastic off jumps, better rodeo 7s than you usually see nowadays.

if anyone skied with that type of style right now everyone on this forum would be on their dick. hes style was flawless and he was plenty tech considering he dosent even really ski anymore and could still kill it harder than half the pros sking year round
