Ive read all the tutorials on TGR and the net that I could find. Im at a poing where im gonna cry. They wont go back together! I cant get the metal baseplate to snap back in. Its not warped or anything either. Im wondering, can i put some grease on the tabs on the binding so they will slide on easier? Also, do i need to put the spring in right away, or can i get the metal baseplate back on, and pop the spring in. Will squishing the spiring in a vice help to get it in there?

I'm going to be taking mine apart in the fall. I think I read that you can put the spring back in after you have it together.

put them together WITHOUT the spring! it will make assembly a lot easier! then to place the spring set the bottom part ..the 2 pointy ends..... then use a flat head screw driver to pry the top part in the coil will fall into place! make sense?

look at all the tabs that have to go up into the binding. the front one should be bent from when you took it off, which is fine. make sure all the other ones are going where they should.

ive actually done this a few times. the secret is to have considerable fingerpower. just ducktape the loop of the spring to the brake, just so it kinda holds. the push everything together so that the bottom tab falls in. then use a narrow screwdriver inserted in the two little hole under the two little tabs to pry them back together. it sometimes help to just try and lightly bend the two small tabs upwards to get easier entry.
