Anyone watch the global comp and actually listen to the commentating, is it just me or do they call everything a 720 and 540, im thinkin mayb hire some people who know something about the sport they are commentating on?

yeah, he's not paid to make the viewers who don't know much about the sport confused. he wont say something was 'an alley-oop switch cork 7 liu-kang' cuz that would make everyone crazy and not want to watch it.

the guy doing the announcing during the comp is a snowboarder (I went to uni with him), but he knew his shit pretty well....don't know who was announcing on tv though.

He was pathetic, same with the chick. Douglas was good cause he didn't call everything a McTwist 5 when it was an alley-oop flatspin 5. and a mctwist 9 that was actually just a cork 9. don't forget how true tail is the hardest grab in skiing.......... pfft.

first of all, it wasn't mike douglas commentating the one i watched, i watched it raw from EXPN and douglas commentated on the very end of it when it was good. Before it was some guy and a retardeded chick. They're were fuckin awful.

That's who i was talking about. Douglas knows his stuff, the dude and moron chick didn't know shit.

i think its good that the announcers are keeping it simple. that is where skiing should be going anyways. just call things how much spin, what grab, and say 'SWITCH' if its switch. we get way too caught up with picky shit. Like if someone does a cork 7 from now on, just call it a 7, only it'll be cool cuz its just a harder, maybe scarier version of a 7. something like that. i think its better. plus, that's probably what pros do in their lil worlds...they just say like, 'i'm doin a 5 off this jump' and do a nice cork 5. its good they're doin this, i like it.
