i agree, cmc sucks.
CU is more of an all around school, and if youre looking to get a degree in circle jerk ology and lets skate by all my classes so i can ski all the time ology then thats probably the place to go. But if you want a more refined and specialized degree, then you might want to go elsewhere. Ft Lewis and Western both have really really good outdoor leadership programs. A prospective employer seeing a Recreation degree from Western and a Recreation degree from CU would without a doubt go with the one from Western, because its a way better school for Recreation. Western may not have the business department CU has (thanks to the aforementioned lack of funding thanks to CU), but it still has one of the better business programs in the state, as does Ft Lewis. The art program at Western is worlds beyond CU's, and the Indian studies at Ft Lewis is one of the tops in the country.
So, if you want to speak broadly, then yes, my post condradicts itself a little. But you cant look at it broadly. Each school is different for different things. When you package everything together, type of schooling, cool town, chill people, close skiing, good buds, lots of hot (but not slutty, ahem, CU) chicks, etc, thats when you can start to see why CU sucks. They dont have everything. Just some. Other colleges have more.
When you start to decide the "best terrain park" or "the best skier", you dont do it with one selection criteria. You have to take in multiple aspects, and its the same with this situation. CU may have good handrails and seem like a better broad education, and lots of nasty sluts who somebody said above "give it out like halloween candy", but theyre lacking in otehr areas, which makes it not the best school in CO for skiing!
