A lot of people say that mogul skiing is gay, but it kicks ass! It teaches park rats how to ski. Some people say that their is no style involved, but their will be soon!

know whats cool, a racer can ski really fast on groomed shit but when they get onto a steep pitch with some bumps, they go fast but way outta control.

bumps skiers on the other hand can ski anything, all the time and go really fast.

freesking didnt grow from anything, it was made because kids like me refused to conform to mogul regulations. hence the term "free" skiing.

j moseley wasnt the first person to do a mute grab on snow. hes a steeze stealer and a claimer.

and, if they wanted to take something from us, dont take a cork spin no grab and call it something stupid.

exactly, thats why freesking is gnar, and mogulers should still be doing spreads and daffys. i respect mogulers, its sick shit, but i can do it switch. they cant steal that.

I agree, racers and freestylers trun into freeskiers, racing for big moutain because of speed comfort, and freestyle for getting used to the pop and set of the park.

Uh... the kids that ski moguls competively could probably school the shit out of the majority of people on this site, in the park or pretty much anywhere... kids are super ignorant if you think they're only doing twister twister spreads and not learning park shit....

and who says mogul guys cant do cork spins and can only twister twister spread. There sport is allowed to progress just like ours, there super sick skiers and im stoked to see them flipping, it brings so much more exposure and respect to freeskiing. Respect the moguls and let them be

well sayed man, i completly respect people who can throw 720's in a mogul lane and land it, cause its way harder than doin that shit on a jump, i ski with a few mogulers and they can rip every where, i dont know where some of the hate against mogulers is coming from, in some asspects they started free skiing so to those who are hating shut the fuck up

Everyone on this site should get into a mogul field (and a slalom course) and just try to throw a simple 3 and see how much skill that takes. Anyone can throw a 3 off a perfectly groomed jump and landing. Be respected as a skier and learn all 3 (bumps, gates, and park).
Until then, talk is cheap! Respect the foundation that all three disciplines require.

I'm not sure about throwin threes in a slalom course, but i have ridden one switch, and ripped more bumps than LT, but it is still a lame, kinda non-productive to take the life out of yourself when you could go huge somewhere.

yea moguls is a fuckin art.. i compete in moguls, big air and slopestyle and she's right, tons of moguls skiers could school the fuck out of lots of people in the park, i'm not one of them, i've only been skiing for 2 years (note my screenname) but people that have coaches that know what the fuck they're talking about can throw it down.. open your eyes.. there are cork 10's being thrown in mogul competitions now.. Nate Roberts has thrown double backs, Tanner Hall, the biggest name probably ever in skiing moved from Montana to Utah and started on the Wasatch Freestyle Team SKIING MOGULS!!

As much as I hate the governing system behing moguls and the way they run the sport, you still can't say moguls don't take alot of skill. And I'm pretty sure the people who innovated "free skiing" to where it is today were former mogul skiers, most of them on national teams as well. The reason they left is because the people who run mogul competitions really are good at ruining the sport, not because "moguls" are gay.

mogul skiing requires just as much skill and effort, if not more, than any other discipline of skiing. not only that but it is also just as much fun given the right atmosphere. i would love to see any of the people on here saying mogul skiiers are 'gay' compete.

That is probably the most retarded comment I've ever seen. Seriously, pull your head out of your ass. For one thing, skiing moguls teaches you tecniques you can apply to the entire mountain, and half your score on a mogul race is purely based on form. Skiing park teaches you to ski wrong, if anything. Also, it's only bad for your knees if you have no clue what you're doing. If you're skiing backseat and slamming into every bump it's going to hurt, but if you are actually skiing correctly it isn't bad for your body at all. And seriously, haven't we all graduated from using the word "gay" to describe everything? Calling something out like that just makes you look immature and makes any sort of point you have completely invalid. Think a little before you spew out meaningless crap again.

One of my favourite things to do is watch the guys that really can throw down in the park. But if you watch a lot of them, once they exit their park they are skiing like morons.
I've seen more than one guy pull some really sick stuff, then scream out of the park skiing like a damn gorb with in a completely wrong tuck, or way to backseat, or rotating.

He's also completely right about the skiing correctly won't hurt your body at all. If your doing everything perfectly, skiing should be almost effortless, at least the Level 3 instructors say where I teach....

okay so this summer i went to beartooth pass, WY. it was sick, and while there i met Tony Gilpin, and ex olympic mougle skier. he was cool, and he helped me and my friends with mougles. i never have had as much apriciation for mougle skiers as i do now. they were laping the couse and after 1 and a half times through my legs literaly gave up, and i wasnt even pushing myself through them that hard. and these kids who did the mougles and kicked ass i may add, riped it in the park as well and had every bit of newschool steeze as the next guy. mougle and freestly are practicaly identical in my case, except in mougles you need more skill cuz you need to go through mougles to get to the jump, and you fuckin land in mougles too. oh ya and mougles do not make you ski wrong, you make yourself ski wrong.

jf, vinnie, douglass, jp, and john d. basically started the fire under the sport and got it recognition in the first years, through movies state of mind and then of course degenerates, which blew people away, jf and vinnies segment in degenerates is still badass and intense. oh yeah and they all came out of skiing moguls, and n.l. i would like to see ur swithch mogul skiing skills

If you think moguls are lame, go to the US Freestyle Championships at Killngtion this year. Sit at the side of the course and watch them do Lincolm loops, front flips, corked 10's right in front of you.

moguls are not gay. i compete in ussa mogul comps and its pretty cooll. i mean i would rather rip the park or ski pow if the east coast had it. but if you have a decent line and big jump, it can be madd fun. don't get me wrong, if it is sunny and 30 i would rather be ripping lines through the park, but as soon as its slow and/or rutted out. i will rock moguls in the afternoon. and it does help your skiing. if you can ski a bump line fast and in controle, you can ski almost anything. people are ripping on racers for not being able to ski bumps, but what about the park rats who just slide their tails around to make a turn or got atraight into a jump. throuhg them in the bumps and they'll do the same thing. there is nothing wrong with skiing park and just jibbing all the time. it just seems like people say its gay cause they can't do it.
