1)moguls teach technical skills that are used in all aspects of skiing
2)racing gets people comfortable with high speed on steep pitches
3)to say there is no style in moguls is crap. watching it on tv doesn't do tricks in the bumps justice
4)IT'S SKIING FOR FUCK SAKE!!! WHO GIVES A RAT'S ASS HOW YOU SKI AS LONG AS YOU SKI!!

i used to be on a freestyle team which is bumps and jumps, the coaches are madd cool and usually we just hit the park all day, then wed have comps. and wed just go through the bumps and shit its straight and i know alot of people that have became sick skiiers because they were on that team, one being a 10 year old kid who pulled a 900 in the bumps, and butterd off the first bump after the jump and kept going, most steeze filled thing ive ever seen

its not about going fast, its about carving. If you ski mogouls all your life you probally wont learn how to carve, and were i ski every racer is shreading the moguls, but throw a bump skiier on a course and see what they can do...

dude, hate to break it to you but there is no carving in the moguls. However you are right in that you cant just wish wash down them. Its all about that forward pressure in the boot, straight running it and making it look like you making them turns.

^^ let me correct both of you, i'm not sure there is a true "carve" in moguls, but i get what we was trying to say. You do not straight line moguls either, it is about forward pressure in your boot, but also about driving your tips into the next mogul and then abosorbing, extending and pushing off the backside of that same mogul into the next one.

freeskiing started when kids got sick of moguls.
its true they are good skiiers because of the training they had for mogul skiing, but the sport itself is fucking gay.

evidence of how fucking gay moguls are is in the fact that they changed the rules to accept newschool tricks.
the sport is a piece of shit that is now riding on the coat tails of a TRUE FUCKING ART FORM, newschool skiing.

Tanner hall used to ski moguls, is he a fag? no sooo many pros ski'd moguls and im sure they can tell you how fun they are.  you have to be a good skier to actually make it down a mogul course, and im positive that 3/4 of this site could not ski moguls if they tried.. and im positive that 3/4 of the people on this site are 10 year old pansies who talk shit to make up for their one inch dicks and undescended testicals.  fuckin grow up everyone
