Whats the deal between mhssc and windells?

are they the same thing or differant camps?
i was reading this article about mhssc said that they were better?
is there any other differant camps in mt hood?

MHSSC is a different camp to Windells, I've been to neither so I can't comment on which is better

basically windells= not looking to progress that much, want to ski with the best pros and the best campus. mhssc= looking to progress, cheaper, not the best pros or campus

this is true minus the progressing
so many kids learned so many things. some kid in my group learned to cork 7 in 2 days he corked 7'd with tail on the 60 they had up.
a lot of kids might learn a thing or 2 but other learn a ton. its probably the same where ever you go
if u put your mind to it you'll progress if u don't then u wont progress

The rate of progression is a mostly a mental thing.    Try not to get hung up on what camp will give you the most progression.   You could go into a camp with  Air bags, foam pits, water ramps, and perfect rails and walk away learning nothing if you're not in the right mind set to learn shit. 

I guess what i'm saying is just go in there with a good attitude and willing to learn and you won't go away dissatisfied.

You pretty much just added the progressing thing to try and balance them out. I've never been to either but progression comes down to how willing you are to try new stuff and how dedicated your coach is. Usually if you show an interest in learning new stuff your coach will be stoked. they love teaching kids new stuff.

MHSSC might not have all the extra goodies that Windells has, but has everything you need to progress a lot. I heard that the coaches at Windells pay more attention to the kids who are amazing and it's harder to progress if you're not throwing down sick tricks.

That thread helped me alot to choose which camp i went to. I chose MHSSC and everything they say about it is pretty much true. I cant say anything about windells tho seeing as ive never been there. Also if anyone cares i'm glad i chose MHSSC over windells

well obviously if you want to progress you will... i have been to windells so speaking for experience windells has a more chill vibe thats not really focused on progressing but instead about having fun but again if you have your mind set on landing a trick then you probably will... now for mhssc i have never been so i wont speak about that.

you progress as much as you want to at either, saying you'll progress more at one then the other is stupid, it all depends on how much work you are willing to put in

i GUARANTEE you will learn more at MHSSC if you push yourself to, i just came back from MHSSC session 5 and learned a few tricks while most others learnt a shit load more. The coaches are 10x better for teaching cuz they actually watch and sit around what you are hiking. They tell you what you are doing and how you can improve it. and the videographers film you and you can watch it in the morning with your coaches.

another point: windells has a gas station right beside, but...... they are not allowed to go to it unless you are over 18. People from windells told me they have a chance of being black listed from camp if they do.

MHSSC has a gas station right beside, where you are allowed to go to it ANYTIME! also MHSSC has a FREE fountain soda machine with a nice selection of drinks.
When i talked to kids that were in my camp they said they fucking LOVE the freedom you get at MHSSC, after skiing you basically tramp/chill/go on computers unless you are not on a activity like paintball, spa, whitewater rafting, or tramp.
MHSSC has a dope tramp and most of the kids there are trying shit and getting better tricks so its not being hoged by all the good kids cuz most of the kids are at the same level. Last week, John Spriggs came by to see his girlfriend( who works in the kitchen at MHSSC), came and jumped on our tramp, only a few bounces, and broke 2 of the springs on the tramp. He is not allowed on the MHSSC campus anymore.

Exactly. People say you don't progress at Windells but it's really up to you if you want to progress. I went to Windells and it's so awesome, although I've never been to mhssc. Windells was expensive but the park was better, the coaches were better, it had a better vibe, the campus was amazing and my coach was super helpful and chill. So I'd say Windells is better, although that is probably very biased.

MHSSC= Strait up baller coaches, best mid-size jumps( SW 10 OR LESS), money tramp set up, and a super chill park crew and staff.

Windells= Super good coaches, the best mega jump (besides high cascade), Airbags, and a kinda summer camp feel to a campus.

They both good just completely different... BUT FUCKIN RADD.

i went to windells 2 years ago and this ^ thread convinced me to go to mhssc this year . windells did have more things to do during free time after skiing, but mhssc has white water rafting, paintball, spa, adventure course, and a better trampoline. there is more freedom at mhssc with the gas station and stuff. the people at mhssc are pretty chill compared to windells kids, i made more friends at mhssc (i went alone to mhssc, i went with one friend to windells)

.. ns mobile. the kids are still cool at windells. i did learn more at mhssc, the jumps were a lot better and the public park was amazing this year and we didnt ride public at windells. and plus bigst33ze goes to mhssc so you should go there. overall windells and mhssc were awesome however next year im returning to mhssc. any more questions about mhssc vs. windells ill be glad to answer.

I think he goes there pretty regularly and the one time it happens he gets banned? Kinda weird... It was probably Mike that did it, though, not Malone. Actually kinda surprised this hasn't happened before. Spriggs is fucking ENORMOUS. If anyone has hit bottom on that tramp, it's him.

hes not really banned, just not accepted there anymore, and it was mostly the coaches. We were chirping arielle( spriggs girls) throughout the rest of the week, and funny thing is, almost all of the campers were out looking at some dumb lake while me and 4 other kids stayed in our rooms till they left and just tramped,

lol funny thing is Tanner had no clue it was john spriggs that was bouncing RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. As soon as spriggs pced, Tanner just said" why did some random guy just come jump on our tramp"?, lol tanner , RIP

its more about personality than skill level. a more outgoing camper will always be asking about new stuff. timid kids dont talk and dont learn anything. and shit guys these are summer camps not olympic training programs. go and have fun, its skiing in the summer who cares if you learn 15 new tricks or none..as long as you had a good time.

you could go with both, but i would say MHSSC would be a better option just cause there are always kids there that are sliding a box for the first time. Great place to learn and no one will laugh at you if you fall. I think in session 5, there was a 47 year old with his 6 year old learning to slide boxes, and the dad eventually got 270's out

2 weeks of MHSSC> 1 week of windells
Windells seems like "thefunnestplaceonearth", but mhssc is the same mountain and its way cheaper. I've been to MHSSC and I thought it was the best week ever.

if your in colorado then i would definitly go to woodward it has the same thing has mhssc just not as much snow, but there is still on snow skiing. and you wont have to pay for airfare. i plan on doing a drop in session pretty soon, which is sick because you can use the barn without being a camper.
