Early Saturday afternoon saw a new event go down at X, with the organizers finally giving the ladies a shot at the X Games Knuckle and it was sick to watch. Initially, you could see it was a new event, but the riders were clearly feeding off each other's energy while feeling it out. In the end, it turned into one hell of a show, with confusing judging and some sick style, just how we like it.

Sarah Hoefflin got the party started with a steezy nosebutter 5 and held the lead for quite a while, backing it up with some huge (kinda) nollie 3s/5s. Until Rell Harwood stepped it up with the 7, that was. It was kinda halfway between a nollie 7 and nosebutter. Super sick. Elsewhere, Lisa Zimmerman put down a switch butter 5 and a handrag 3, as well as a no hands front flip. Annie K sent an ollie 7, Tereza K had a dope nosebutter 5 and a handdrag 3. Olivia threw a steezy hand drag 5 and a huge flat 5 to take the lead. On the final run, Sarah H put down a zerospin shifty but it didn't improve her score. Lisa went kinda nollie misty 5 but remained in 6th for some reason. Rell Harwood threw a switch 5 japan with swag right at the death and it didn't bump her up either, even though for us here nollie/nosebutter 7 the second time round was trick of the day. That left Olivia firmly in the driving seat and she zero spinned for good measure. Annie threw switch 180 to nollie 5, pretty sick but didn't change her position either. In that regard, this was pretty much like men's knuckle huck, sick to watch but completely incomprehensible judging. Did you have to use the knuckle? Nobody really knows but the skiing was rad and we're stoked to see the event back next year.
