WHISTLER, BC, December 1, 2008 – On December 6, Whistler Heli-Skiing kicks off its 28th season, bringing guests the thrill of their lifetime for yet another winter.

Along with an experienced heli-ski guide, skiers and riders who are an intermediate level or above can experience the thrill of flying in a helicopter, and the exhilaration of shredding untracked powder. Professional photo and video services are also provided so guests can capture their epic day forever.

“With 432,000 acres of terrain and heli-ski runs up to 9,000 feet, we are able to find good early season powder for all skiers and riders,” says Doug O’Mara, Managing Director of Whistler Heli-Skiing. “We’d also like to remind our American guests that the exchange rate now means your dollar will be 25 per cent stronger than last year. Every activity in Whistler will be an extra value.”

British Columbia is home to 90 per cent of the world’s heli-skiing because of the sheer vastness of wilderness and abundance of powder. The Whistler area offers up the cream of the crop and with a huge chunk of Coast Mountain Range terrain to choose from, the powder options are endless. Whistler Heli-Skiing’s regular drop spots include 173 glaciers and 475 runs – but there is still much uncharted territory to discover.

All guides and reservation staff are back from last year and looking forward to meeting new skiers and riders and renewing past friendships.

Whistler Heli-Skiing offers a variety of packages based on ability level and number of drops. The season runs to April 26. To book a heli-skiing trip, call 1-888- HELISKI (435-4754) or visit whistlerheliskiing.com.
