DEALINE for application: August 7th, 2006 Organization: The Alberta Freestyle Ski Association is a non-profit association which is responsible for coordinating and delivering programs to amateur athletes Half Pipe Program Description: The Alberta Half Pipe Team is a part time program focused on becoming a year round program. With this we are looking for a part time coach to train our athletes for training camps in the off season as well as in season training as it is needed . The program operates within the guidelines as set by the Board of Directors under the direction of the Half Pipe Team Head Coach, the Executive Director and the Director of Athlete Development . Education and Experience needed: · NCCP Competitive Coach Air ( Level 2 ) certified · Club Coach Trampoline ( Level 1 ) certified · Experience with new school maneuvers and half pipe training. · Experienced skills with Microsoft Office: Word and Excel · Experience with managing a group of athletes for traveling and training. · Class 4 drivers license Any certification, education and experience higher than the above listed will be favored in the hiring. Job Description and Responsibilities; 1. Coaching Expectations: a. Assist in the planning and periodization for the Alberta Team training camps and competition season. b. Assist in the planning of daily technical and physical training. c. Assist in providing t echnical coaching for the Alberta Half Pipe Team on water , snow and trampoline. d. Assist in monitoring the physical training and injury prevention of the Alberta Half Pipe Team. e. Aid in completing evaluations for the athletes and the association after the camp . f. Ensure the safety/supervision of minors on the team as per AFSA policy. 2. Administrative expectations: a. Assist as required with accommodation and travel arrangements for athletes, b. Assist in maintaining and developing training site, c. Driving the team van when needed d. Athlete injuries must be properly reported (by means of an accident report supplied by AFSA) and followed up on. e. Ensure that all training areas are properly sanctioned and safe f. Maintain good management of the equipment (e.g. video equipment and radios). g. Email or voicemail messages shall be responded to within a reasonable amount of time (24 – 48 Hours) h. Matters of athlete discipline: Communicate and provide reporting and feedback to AFSA Executive Director, Director Athlete Development and involved parents.
