Now Paul is going to better be able to tell you guys what is currently going on, because I flat out don't understand it.   I have about as much information as you do, which is what I read when I clicked to go to the forums.   Its something about database optimization, as traffic has exploded this year!   Good news, but I guess this is just some growing pains.  So stick with us, and Paul will have everything back up and running faster than you can imagine!  In the meantime, you can bitch at us in here!
