Stratton Mountain Resort kicked off summer in style this past weekend under the sun and on the snow. Hundreds of participants, spectators and Memorial Day revelers were at Stratton for the second annual Mountain Mayhem Weekend.

Over 70 skiers and riders participated in Sunday’s rail jam featuring jumps, boxes and rails. Whether aiming to win best trick or biggest air, everyone went huge, leaving their best moves of the season on the table. The features were built on snow left over from the US Snowboarding Open, and it was clear that the riders were inspired by their predecessors. Thirteen prizes were awarded for skiers and riders of all ages.

Saturday’s 5k mudder had 72 runners battling obstacles, mud and the clock around the Nordic trails. Uphill, downhill, over trees, bridges, brooks and tires, the top two women tied at 20:01 and the top man at 19:40.

The Village was alive with BBQs, giveaways, Memorial Day sales and alfresco dinners. Ending the weekend with a tan and fond memories, it is undeniable that there is an epic summer on tap at Stratton!
