The Solid Seven will be a whenever the hell I feel like it article series detailing 7 solid, not necessarily great, skiing related topics. Whether it is 7 questions with everyone's favorite pro Jason Arens *cough* finish the damn interview *cough* (yes it's still not done yet), 7 epic BC jump shots, or the 7 gnarliest bails from the previous month, just know I'm doing you a solid.
2014 was a stellar year for edits & one trick wonders of all kinds.
The ultimate bro maneuver, the brofist. Done by fratstars, surfers, skiers, and boarders around the globe, it is the ultimate show of friendship. Swedes Jerry Öijer & Fabian Omne took it one step further with this incredible brodeo.
Half Cash Half Dog
Coming to the party late was this incredible edit that blew my mind along with 52,000 other people. As if B-Dog and Vinni Cash needed to solidify their position as style and innovation kings, this did it.
Faction's superstar team featuring Candide, Delorme, Vanular, and Cheddar to name a few, burst into the Newschooler world with a fire few could match. Every edit they released was an incredible showing of all things skiing; gnarly urban, incredible park shoots, & tantalizing all-mountain runs.
THIS IS THE TITLE
GOODENOUGHBGK did it on 'em last year. THIS IS THE TITLE and Revenge of the Slugs are some of my favorite edits to go watch again and again and for good reason. Skiing is top notch, they make fun of shit, and song choice is always spot on. Follow them on snapchat to get a glimpse into the real world of skiing. @GOODENOUGHBGK
Tabarnak Pack: The Finale
If you haven't heard of the Tabarnak Pack, you clearly live under a rock. As mentioned in a prior article, Tabarnak Pack is hitting the gnarliest urban North of the border and doing so with immense style. These guys dominated the Canadian video scene last year and it's safe to say they will do it again this year.
Weirdest video I saw last year? Probably. Funniest video I saw last year? Definitely. If you haven't seen it, check it out now and prepare to laugh your ass off.
The Way I See It
POV master Sander Hadley ripped around Snowbird with his GoPro for a few runs and the rest was history (sidenote: reminds me of a young THall, anyone agree?) He filmed a collab edit with Ski Boss, landed a spot to film with MSP, he continued to impress the rest of the ski world by landing the GoPro Hero award at the Powder awards. Keep your eyes peeled for Sander to make waves in the ski world!
