In the past three weeks I've been working on a couple of big projects for school. Both of them are food related, one on a local level and the other on a global level. The other day, I went to the Shaw Family Farm. It's a small farm located in Glenshire, about 30 minutes away from my house in Tahoe City. I was really surprised that we have such a farm in Truckee, but even more surprised at what they are doing there. This is a photo of one of their many roosters. I was so excited to visit their farm and learn about raising chickens, green houses, etc. It was a great trip. I'm signed up on the egg list now and can't wait to try them out. This is just a little sneak peak of what's to come on this blog. I'll have a number of posts on this subject in the near future.
