-A free trip to Mammoth to ski with the Pro Team May 3rd thru the 7th.

What happens on May 3rd at the start of your Jib Academy finals trip? You board a plane from your hometown and fly to Reno international airport. (The biggest little airport in the world)

You meet up with the other 15 finalist from all over the globe, as well as Salomon’s pro team (including Charles Gagnier, Sammy Carlson, Mike Douglas, Kaya Turski, Mark Abma, Simon Dumont, and many others), a professional film crew, and a slew of other media in the Reno airport. Everyone gathers together, the convoy of vans and a cargo truck pull up and everyone piles in for the three hour drive to Mammoth.

Once in Mammoth you will be dropped off at your liftside accommodations. With a view of the terrain park this hotel is pimp and you will be given a key to your home for the next week. After dinner with your new family it’s time to crash out for the night trying to shake the jet lag before a week of shredding that you will never for get.

From here the week is filled with fun. The park at Mammoth is super sick with a quad that gives you more laps than you could ever imagine. Everyone skis together and amps each other up. There a photographers and videographers capturing all the action as you learn to ski at a whole new level. The fun factor is extremely high at Jib Academy!

After a week highlighted by a private jump shoot, bowling, soccer and more new tricks than you could imagine, it all comes to an end. There is a grand last dinner followed by the final slide show and a short video edit from the week. Creative prizes are given away and everyone packs up for the long haul home. Remembering the best week EVER!!.

Registration is now open for all six events at http://www.jibacademyregistration.com, so get on it fast, as only 80 kids can participate per event location. Also remember that all of the Jib Academy events are completely free and you must be 16 or under at the time of your Jib Academy event to compete. Oh, and helmets are mandatory. Safety first kids.

And just in case you're still not sold, here's a few words from one of last year's attendees, 10-year-old Willie Borm, who after going to the Minnesota Jib Academy stop ended up spending the better part of the summer skiing with Sammy Carlson.

Willie Borm

“Getting the chance to ski with my friends and the Salomon pros at the same time during the Jib Academy in Minnesota was so sick. I had so much fun. Getting the chance to go to Mammoth for the Jib Academy finals was a dream come true. I had so much fun and made so many new friends. Salomon’s pros were out there skiing with us every day and the Salomon crew treated us like pros all week. Salomon built a 70 foot kicker for a private Jib Academy session and my hero and friend Sammy Carlson helped me hit it. He actually hit the jump with me for my first run. The Jib Academy was so crazy sick and I’ll never forget it.”
