Saint-Sauveur, November 14th 2007- The Festival des Films de Neige de Saint-Sauveur (FFNSS) announced last week the program for its second edition, which will be held from November 15th to 18th, at Mont Avila.

On screen, 8 movies from Quebec, 3 from the United States, 1 from Norway and 1 from France, plus five short films competing for the Public Choice Award. The winner of this honor will be awarded an Orage ski suit (value of 650$) as well as an internship with Boombox, a Vancouver movie production company specializing in extreme sports broadcasting with a recently opened eastern office in Saint-Sauveur (for more info, visit http://www.boomboxgroup.com).

Many door prizes to be given away, including Elan skis, a snowboard from Prfo, night skiing passes from MSSI, Adidas goggles, goodies from Giro, Camelbak and Orage as well as tickets for Warren Miller's Playground premiere, held on December 9th at the Place des Arts in Montreal.

The Festival's MC, Jhunyor Cherry, member of Tripsonik, is a funny and witty entertainer and also an extremely talented beatbox performer.

Thursday, November 15th: Big Mountain Night

DJ BOOGGEE will launch the party with an Old School happy hour (5pm to 7pm). Following will be the short films in competition and 2 American films; Open Windows, a modern Telemark skiing documentary and Lost and Found the newTeton Gravity Research movie. Rudy Caya and the members of The Sainte Catherines will perform songs from Rudy Caya's new album Le Taureau, as well as classic hits from the Vilains Pingouins to conclude the opening night festivities.

Friday, November 16th:

Mixed Matinee: Starting at 3pm, the competing short films screening preceding 2 Quebec made movies; Drop Concrete, a freeski movie, and Show me Yours, a snowboard movie. These two pictures clearly demonstrate that even on a tight budget, Quebecers know how to produce great films!

Snowboarding Night: DJ Figure 8 will start spinning from 5pm, warming up the scene for a great night of snowboarding movies. At 7pm, we will present the short films in competition, followed by two Quebec made movies: the long awaited new movie from Sugar Shack Productions Try This at Home and Drop Frame, the newest release from Typhoon Media.

To wrap things up, Omnikrom and Numero#, ADISQ Felix Album of the Year recipients in their respective categories, will give us an award winning performance.

.Saturday, November 17th:

Freeski Matinee: As of 2:30pm, come in and vote for your favorite short film! Presenting Magic Moves, from Norway as well as Beaver Tale, the latest from Mystic Land Productions and winner of the Best Amateur Movie of the 2007 IF3.

Freeski Night: DJ Aljeru will ensure the link between matinee and evening events by spinning an energizing set from 5 to 7pm. The competing short films will then be viewed, followed by the last minute addition of NSF Production's movie Hope, as well as The.07.Project by NewWayProductions and SAVE, the environmentally conscious film by Pléhouse Films.

This entire evening of Quebec made movies will be rocked up by the Montreal based punk-rock band The Dirty Tricks, main event of the Salon de la Musique Indépendante de Montreal (SMIM) this past September.

November 18th : La Cerise sur le Sunday

Beginning at 12pm, in a Sunday afternoon family atmosphere (since kids under 12 pay only $5), all are invited to vote for their favorite short film in competition. Make sure you get your votes in as this is your last chance!

World premiere screening of the French collective film KesSkipass II:Back on Tracks will be shown as well as the 2006 Warren Miller's Off the Grid movie, a ski and snowboard picture packed with action, powder and crazy snowball fights. The closing ceremony will unveil the first ever winner of the Short Film Competition of FFNSS history.
