This year, with the awards going fully virtual (shout out to Swany Gloves @ON3P & @Windells for making these awards possible), we are taking the opportunity to shed some clarity on what each award means, and the judging process. @Twig and @curt_ had LJ Strenio, Alex Hackel & Xavier Mayrand are ultimately behind the decisions, with the rest of the NS team involved in the preselection too.

Crew of the year is one of the more nebulous awards, in the sense that defining what is and isn't a crew. It's tough to decide where you draw the line between crews, brand teams and production companies. Level 1, for example, is clearly a production house first and foremost. Keesh, clearly a crew. But in the past, Strictly, Line Traveling Circus and many many more have proved hard to place. And who wins? Is it the crew with the best movie? No, because that would be a candidate for movie of the year. Is it purely on vibe? Kinda. For us, it ultimately comes down to a question of which crew was out there getting people stoked on skiing. From videos, to events, to social media presence and an overall impression of both togetherness and love for the game. And this year, all the crews crushed it, but in our eyes, there could only be one winner, @buldozgang.

In Switzerland, the writing is quite literally on the wall, lots of them. They hosted an invitational, crushed on social media and dropped a whole host of videos, shredding at home, across Europe and now tearing up the US too. Congrats boys on the back-to-back win.
