We are running it back again this year with the rewind. Sadly my work schedule last year made it essentially impossible to put the Rewind out on a weekly basis, but this year is different. Let's not waste any time, and check out what the first week had to offer us…

If you're new to the Recap, you can probably imagine, given the title, what I am aiming to achieve. This is just a showcase of some of the best contributions to the site in a given week.

There was so much to sort through in the video category this last week…but I think a good place to start would be with @joeykraft and his footage from last season. The film titled "Braj" features the thrash as well as finesse from this band of ballers. Urban, backcountry, and resort skiing are all covered in this 10 min upload.

---

On Thursday, The @Faction Collective Team uploaded a short 4-minute heater called "ALTA". As you can imagine, with a team as stacked as this, all 4 minutes were loaded to the gills with absolute banger clips. "From sailing through deep pow to slashing through springtime slush, follow in the flow as the team ride through every type of terrain in Alta’s renowned winter playground."

Still Loving You, is an absolute gift brought to us by @Marinho.R.Meyer . He describes his 6-minute film as "A love letter to skiing and the beauty that is ski film". This piece brings us a masterfully balanced mix of big mountain, park, and cinematic clips, all tied together with some awesome production work. This one was a real treat.

I'm just going to leave it with these 3... The videos tab is just so loaded up I really feel bad leaving so many out of the recap...

STONEZONE was great, The Junk Show Goes to Oregon was a blast to watch, SNOT was super rad... Just go check it out, for real.

In the news tab, @Young_patty put together a fantastic update on the Newschoolers Stimulus project known as the Zero Zone. The Homies in Montana put together this project to help "organically grow the local ski and snowboard scene within Montana" and from the looks of it, it's been money well spent. "October 23rd saw our first day of operations and a great turnout. Dozens of local skiers and snowboarders made the pilgrimage up hyalite canyon to enjoy some of the first snowfall of the season and by the afternoon the parking lots were overflowing with people and cars." Be sure to check back for more updates on the Zero Zone, film included.

@cydwhit published a great piece about the beauty of working on your own gear titled Do It For Yourself. For me, one of the best things that came out of working at my local ski shop was the amount of learning and practice I got with the tools and techniques. Tuning, edge repairs, and yes even mounting are all skills that I'm so glad I feel comfortable teaching now, let alone practicing on my own. Take the homies advice, and just lean into it, it's really a ton of fun.

Finishing off the news tab is @theabortionator and his soulful piece called Gratitude. Telling the story of how he fell into into industry, and how this passion can make changes in someone's life. This is more of a season hype up than some edits for real, and I think borty speaks for a lot of us here. We're rolling into another season right now and I just wanted to take the time to say that whether you're a weekend warrior at this point, a few days a month, or getting out several days a week, hold the fuck onto that stoke!

Honestly, I'm a day late posting this, but there's still time to enter this week's giveaway!
