MOUNTAIN HIGH TO REMAIN OPEN UNTIL MAY 2ND

Wrightwood, CA – April 23, 2010: The season that wouldn’t end. Fresh snow continues to fall in Southern California and Mountain High now plans to remain open through May 2nd making this the longest season in its history. A total of 186 days to be exact beating out the winter of 2004/05 by five days. Mountain High is now one of only a handful of resorts open in the country and resort operators couldn’t be more excited about the extended season.

Says John McColly, Director of Marketing, “Yup, it’s been a long winter. Once we hit May, we’ll have operated in eight different months. Not many resorts in the world can say that.”

The majority of Mountain High’s West Resort is still open with good coverage, and there is a chance for even more snow next Tuesday and Wednesday. Up to four lifts are currently in operation accessing 28 trails with terrain for all levels and abilities. Ticket prices will drop to just $35 this Monday for adults (regularly $55.00), and $25.00 for children ages 7 to 12. Kids ages 6 and under ski free with a paying adult. Limit two free children’s tickets per adult ticket.

Mountain High is Southern California’s closest winter resort located just an hour and a half from Los Angeles and Orange County. The area consists of three separate mountains (Mountain High East, West, and North), and offers a wide variety of lifts and trails, the world class Faultline Terrain Park, and the region’s largest tubing park. Snowmaking covers more than 80 percent of the slopes, and the resort operates seasonally from November to April. Guests can get up to the minute snow and weather conditions at mthigh.com.
