It's a Blackwood Kind of a Day

After we got all of that snow the sun came out with vengeance. It went from one extreme to another. One day, I was skiing Squaw with four lifts open and free refills on every run and the next day I was sweating bullets while riding my sled up to Blackwood trying to get the last of the powder. I was looking forward to a slow change of seasons, but mother nature had something else in mind. She heated up and traded us snow for sunlight. At first I needed a break from shoveling, but after a day of sun, I had had enough. The change was too quick for me and I woke up one morning with a feeling of emptiness in my stomach. Where did all of our snow go? I'm not ready for full spring conditions. Luckily, we got the last of it in Blackwood.I went up with Moss Halliday and Andrew Burns to get some fresh turns. It was a pretty mellow day, but so much fun. The snow was creamy and ripe for ripping fast lines. A day later and the spines in the first photo were all rock. See ya later winter. Hopefully you'll be back on Thursday like the weatherman says. Miss you.
