Gina Petrice, 16 from San Francisco, California earned herself a pair of Dakine/Windells pipe gloves for completing almost 40 assignments in one week. What keeps Gina motivated? Competitions, friends, free gear and Kumara Kelley to name a few.

Gina is well on her way to completing almost her entire Spanish course, which means more time for snowboarding. ” I want to focus more on my riding and be at my best for competitions”. Windells Academy students have the opportunity to complete course work at their own pace through the Kaplan online school program.  Buckling down and getting courses out of the way, students are given the gift of time to put towards their athletic training. This is a unique opportunity for students to improve their time management skills and really put their efforts into their skiing and snowboarding careers.

When asked what keeps her inspired Gina responded with ” Riding motivates me to do well in school. Watching riders such as Kelley Kumara pushes me to progress in snowboarding. I got the chance to ride with Kumara this summer and it totally changed my perspective about women snowboarders. Her style is creative and seeing her in videos such as ‘Peep Show’ got me hyped. My friends also keep me inspired to be a good snowboarder and a well rounded person”.

To keep Gina looking good, feeling good and doing great, Windells hooked her up with a new pair of Dakine pipe gloves designed specifically for Windells. This season you can catch Gina competing in USASA and USSA events in both pipe and park competitions. So ‘high 5′ Gina, keep up the good work! Windells Academy would also like to give a ‘high 5′ for Dakine and other supporting sponsors.
