Giulia Tanno announced today that she will be out of the competition scene for some time due to a broken arm sustained while practicing on the X Games course. This, unfortunately, means that she will no longer be able to compete at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics for Switzerland.

It's absolutely heartbreaking news as Giulia has been making her mark on the women’s freeskiing scene these past couple of years and was a serious contender to medal at Pyeongchang. She's been throwing down hard in competition after competition, this year, as well as in Faction’s This is Home film. Her signature move is her wild dub 10 safety which has led her to many podium finishes in her young career in big air contests.

Luckily, this is not the end for her. Last year the young gun had a season-ending brutal crash at Nine Knights and was able to come back stronger than ever. She will no doubt do the same after this injury has healed. Giulia has a very bright future ahead of her and will no doubt be able to continue progressing women’s slopestyle and big air contests. Wishing her a speedy recovery!
