You may not be familiar with Alterra, but you've probably heard of the Ikon Pass. Alterra is the parent company of the Ikon Pass, and they also own and operate resorts such as Tremblant, Sugarbush, Mammoth, and Palisades. They also own the world's largest heli-skiing operation, CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures, across British Columbia, Canada, with nearly a dozen heli-ski lodges. This morning, Alterra announced its intention to acquire Mike Wiegele Heliskiing's operation, based out of Blue River, British Columbia, in a press release.

Mike Wiegele Heliskiing celebrated its 50th anniversary in the 2019/2020 season and stated in the press release this morning, "The sale to Alterra ensures MWHS will continue to be one of the world's most unique powder skiing experiences for the next 50 years."

MWHS boasts world-class facilities, impeccable guest experiences, and a prioritized commitment to safety. MWHS commented, "Becoming a part of the Alterra family will propel this operation to new heights, allowing us to enhance the guest experience further and deepen our existing community and loyal guest partnerships."
