I'm planning on moving to tahoe next fall with 4 or 5 other people. Anybody have any suggestions, words or wisdom, etc. on where to live and work? Contact me on AIM at butch83186 or send me a message. I'd like to talk to someone that lives there or has lived there and wants to answer some questions i have. Thanks.

Umm, south lake kinda sucks... no wait, it sucks but the skiing is good. weekends are super crowded, so crowed that you can't ski..well atleast i dont bother on the weekends. the town has lots of mexicans and is ran down, white trashers, lots of meth-heads, one ripped off my ski's...It diff not a ski town vibe here...i'm so over it and moving back to a real ski town. I don't live in south lake in the summer thank god! I've been here from some of it...you will be amazed on the weekends of the summer, hellish. Don't let anyone tell you different, if they do they are just a californian and used to it,so they don't think anything of it.
The north shore is by far the better side of the lake. Work and ride at squaw, You don't have to work the 32 hours they till you to get a pass. My girl friend is a ticket seller and barely works and got a pass, squaw is open till the end of may with a park untill then. For sure move to the north shore.

woah.. south lake isn't that bad. i grew up right on the stateline. i love it white trash? i don't really know what you are talking about. i agree that on the weekends, it gets pretty crowded.. but without the tourists, the resorts and the town wouldn't be there. north shore is more clean but that's just because it's really wealthy. if you can afford to live there, go for it.

white trash, yes, with exceptions. It's the truth. North shore's rent won't cost much more at all and if your moving with a bunch of buddies then rent will not a be a problem. SLTgirl sorry if i affend you but its the truth. I'm just giving a honest assement of the town. Most the people that live here in south lake live here for all the wrong reasons and it shows.

white trash, mexicans, yes, but south shore kills it, plus the riders kill it too, if its crowded, go hike something, or go to kirkwood, Season pass on the south shore are way cheaper. i mean like 4 hundo or under. Squaw is 12 hundo, what, plus the cheap alpine is 8 or 9 hundo, come south, we kill it

North shore also has its downs, if your talking white trash, and mexicans... Kings Beach? Hey you'll probably find cheaper rent there though.

the truth? how long have you lived in south lake and what part of town? i want to hear this. if you think tahoe is white trash come to reno or some other city. what wrong reasons are people living in south lake for? you don't affend me, i just think it's kind of funny you think that. i don't know, i grew up on the nevada side so maybe i missed all this.

dude northshore passes are just as cheap as south shore passes, with the exception fo squaw. Alpine is only $199, Northstar is like $240. I prefer the Northshore but I'm sure you'll be happy where ever you wind up.

yeah, squaw and alpine are spendy for areason, way better than northstar or the others. I live in the sierra tract, which is suppose to be trashy but i htink its nice, my neighbor films for a well known snowbaord film maker, plus the other neighbhors are far from trash. SOUTH Shore represent

I have no experience with north shore. I've always skiied sierra or kirkwood. I'm originally from el dorado hills but i'm living in utah this season. Either way we'll probably live in south shore. What's the best bet on apartment complexs down there?
