What’s a song that you want/wanted to use for an edit that you’ve had to avoid because someone made a timeless edit to you before you could?

Agreed, but I think that’s kind of obvious. I’m just trying to see what edits and songs have stuck with people, and if that effects their decisions on particular songs they choose.

I spent 3 years making an edit to 1979 by smashing pumpkins, only for magma mondays to drop an episode with it right before I finished the edit

I still used it, because the edit it for me first and foremost

I actually did use this song years ago but I wouldn't expect anyone to remember that lol

Was thinking about using Wuthering Heights a while back but it's a pretty unusual song so I never ended up using it since I thought people wouldn't like it. Then it was in the Child Labor video and they used it really well.

I had edited a video with Head Up by Wood and then took the song out since I thought it would be better used somewhere else but now it's in Iced out mona lisa. Similar deal with Woosah by Dean Blunt in Gonzo.

Magma used the Guts Theme from Berserk in Gonzo.

I was saving that song for the day I finally didn't suck at skiing. Thought I was an omega level genius keeping this song in my back pocket.

osapberg has the most insane song choices ever. The mix they used in Gonzo genuinely has like 3000 views on youtube. Some of the songs he has in Kimbo Heaven are also insanely deep cuts, one being a Mazzy Star song that she never released and only performed live on a few occasions.

Politicians in my eyes was used by Ishod Wair in Nike Chronicles 2, and also in a Videograss movie the same year. It is a dope song, but there's enough skiers ripping off songs from skateboarding/snowboarding already, no need to use that one
