Hello everyone
since a couple of months I became obsessed with park skiing and I really want to learn it.

I have been skiing since I was 4 so I know how to ski.
There are just Some problems
I live in Belguim (thats why english isn’t that good) so there is no snow. There are also no indoor slopes near. I am really motivated to learn but I just don’t know if i could ever do park skiing.

Thank you very much, I was wondering if I should buy skis (I was thinking Line Honey Badgers or other options) because I go skiing in the Alps once a year.

Do you have room to have a backyard (back garden) set up. Drop in, rail, landing? There are a few threads on here describing different set ups but that would help with your park skiing tremendously over the summer and then when you do go for your ski holiday, you will be ready to ski the park.

Welcome brotha. To learn, any twin tip park ski will work great. Mount the bindings at center or -2.5cm from center. Detune/dull the edges under foot with a mill bastard file so they will slide rails and boxes much better. Sharp edges don't slide rails. Most of us have a separate pair of dull skis for the park and a pair of sharp skis for the rest of the mountain. And plan your next trip to mountain in the alps known to have a good beginner park. In my backyard I have a little slope (about 5-10% steepness) so maybe with a bungee cord i could build a rail? The thing is that it doesn't snow here so maybe wet the grass so i could slide?

This and maybe some indoor/outdoor carpet with some soap or mSnow will help. Ive never used the mSnow but i have heard it works okay.

You could also build a wood drop in and msnow works great. Turf is cheaper but doesn’t work as well, I think you need to use dish soap to get the same effectiveness.

@snowshare on instagram always has deals are you could check out facebook marketplace in your area for used skis and bindings

You can go to a local store and get some turf which will work the same with some dish soap.

Looks like I may be moving to the UK this summer. Could get you some skis from the US and I could ship them to you when I arrive.

That would be crazy. I just don’t know which size. Does it differ between twintips and just normal skis?

Happy to help. If we do move it will be in July this year, so you have a few weeks to decide. I can just throw them in with my skis and ship them over with our personal items.

As for the sizing, skis should all be somewhat in the same sizing range. I know some manufactures may vary a bit but not by much. A 175cm ski (twin tip or directional) should be in the range from 175-180.

for a beginner skis should be around 5cm shorter than your height
