Always associated that with the lumineers. Me and my buddy ironically called that song the ho hey song before we found out it was actually the name. We still send each other videos when it's playing in the wild

There was a period where any open mic near a college campus would hear a few of those a night. Got that song is trash but it's grown on me because of my friend and my mutual disdain

Also where the fuck do some of those bands shop? Like to they volunteer for civil war reenactments and steal the uniforms?

There were some good songs and okay bands from the era, but that was a horrible look imo. Look, we're dressed from the 1800s and have cool folksy random instruments and a woman and man singing against each other and maybe stop stomps and some heys in there. Bring your gas lanterns, we'll be playing at the local tavern next week.

Fair take on the luminaries lol. At one point I think I said “why does every female vocalist try to sing like they are from fucking Iceland?!” But then they were actually from fucking Iceland. Still I hate that fake dialect shit.

i think the luminers are the only band that actually came out of this and with the exception of the ho hey song actually make decent kinda normal folk music.
