Did anyone else feel like they blacked out on rails and boxes when they were a beginner?

you are entering a primal state likely caused by fear, panic, etc. your veins literally constrict to make blood flow to the inner part of your brain. this is often referred to as fight or flight and it has a lot of impacts to your body

you gotta breathe homie lol. also picture yourself lacing it over and over in your head. imagine what it feels like for you to successful land a trick without entering that primal state. by envisioning it going well your mind you will trick your mind into creating a memory of it happening correctly and then when you are in that spot again, your mind will refer to that memory to navigate the situation. this is called ‘future memory making’ and it’s powerful. you can see the pros before they drop in going through their run in their head and doing slight tweaks with their body as they envision their drop. thats the exact same shit.

once you figure out that you can preset all of life’s challenges like talking to girls, nailing interviews,
navigating a death, etc. by future memory making, it becomes more of a cheat code to be the person you wanna be. but that’s a lesson for another day lmao

yeah, i can think of a couple times it's happened to me when i wasn't a beginner but i was doing something particularly gnarly for me

OP like everyone said, just keep doing reps, you'll get more and more and more comfortable. have fun! learning rails/boxes is almost like unlocking a completely new dimension on the mountain

same shit used to happen to me when i was learning 3's. reps help obviously, but i also like to go into the feature repeating the steps in my head over and over, through the trick aswell.
