Yo, what’s up guys – I’ve been trying to get my Shiftys dialed in lately but I kinda suck.
Here’s where I’m at:
• I naturally spin to the left – 180s only 😅
• I also look over my left shoulder when skiing switch.
• But when I do that classic sideways brake on the slope (like that butter-style slide to scrub speed), I always twist my legs to the right – that just feels super natural and controlled.
• When I try the same thing to the left, it feels weird and off balance – like I’m falling into the backseat or my hips just say “nah.”
So now I’m stuck wondering:
Which way should I actually be learning my Shiftys – legs to the left or right?
Is there a “right” direction based on spin side? Or is it just personal preference and what feels best in the air?
Right now nothing feels right for me and i feel like i can only twist my legs like 30 degrees.
Appreciate any tips, drills, or just how you learned it yourselves. Just wanna get this locked in.
Cheers!
