I mounted these up for Finn and a couple longer pairs for ABM. It's the 5th prototype and they're down to two different builds and will most likely go into production for 27/28 from what I gather. They feel pretty sick from what I could tell, they were 105mm underfoot and have quite a narrow tail. I shoulda grabbed a few more photos but also don't want to spoil all the beans.. New Jesters are nice and stack is crazy low; but the integrated brake/heel track might cause some headaches

That looks crazy. New 104 replacement I'd guess? Different shape but the current 104 has a narrow tail relative to the tips.
I always thought the 104s were too light and too soft, but I weigh a lot so idk

In the other photo they appear to have a lot of rocker? Do you have any information?
Whatever that boot Daron is wearing at least they finally eliminated the horrendous second buckle/boa pivot placement that has been wrong for 50 years. Getting the pressure point off the high point of the instep(medial cuneiform) makes so much more sense. Besides being the high point, pressure there shuts down blood flow and compress nerves. About time. Though to be fair, Salomon and some three piece boots beat others to the punch.
TOAST.The toe does release to the side and vertically does it not? Which would be multidirectional.
Don't think they are claiming lateral heel release.
I was led to believe by my local rep that the 12/14 models were the only ones with a true vertical release because of the split wing design. 15/18s aren't split wing so there is limited vertical release capabilities. Just cause it tilts forward dosen't really mean anything. Most bindings do that in some compacity especially if it's Auto GW. Maybe they've changed that stance tho idk

Yeah iirc Look's position is that they both release vertically but the metal toe's is limited compared to the plastic toe's
at the end of the day though the proof is in the taste of the pudding. I stay in, and come out, when I think I should waaay more consistently in pivots (both kinds of toes) over the years
i think others have caught up in recent past but back in the day it wasn't even a question, most bindings were garbage for park/freeride compared to pivots, never mind their better durability (look seems to be really pushing their luck in this dept these days, with the pivot 2.0s not having the most superb track record so far. But we'll see)
Ya the opinion has always been that a 15/18 won’t actually release a toe vertically without any heel twisting. Some have removed the din spring and tried to release a boot and couldn’t get them to pop out just from the toe. It wouldn’t tilt far enough to release the toe lug. So people say the 15/18 doesn’t have true toe vertical release. I just found it interesting that Look was finally chiming in and stating the 15/18 does in fact have actual vertical toe release.

not arguing, i'm not an engineer (i have social skills and im not a virgin), but what is that supposed to prove? if i fall wearing pivots the toe piece will have a spring inside for sure
again, not arguing, just curious what i'm missing, what variable they think they're isolating here

I 100% agree. I don’t think it actually proves anything. I’m actually siding with look saying it has vertical release. I was just pointing out why the argument has persisted for so long and what the naysayers use as their argument.
Apparently Rossi is dropping a Super Virage version of the ZA+ WC boot in Orange - anyone else seen these? Maybe Lange will release a pink one (which would be sick)
Looks like Nikolai Schirmer has some new prototype boa boots on his feet - originally thought it was a Salomon/Atomic but probably some new Scarpa being tested. Anyone else seen these yet? -
