Am I cooked? FILMERS HELP

I was filming with a rail jam with my mividv camcorder and it got a bit wet, It was pouring rain although I had a plastic bag over the cam the entire time, a bit of water sept through and the cam is not turning on, has been drying out for 2+ days now and i just put it in some rice (no silica packets available) Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and how long it took for the cam to turn back on! any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have put quite a bit into this camera

Definitely take the sd card out and the battery as well just in case. Also open all the battery compartments and shit to make sure theres actually air/exposure in there. Other than that might just be a waiting game. And with opening any ports, gotta make sure to remember to check for any stuck rice in there when you do try to turn it back on.

its a mini dv camcorder so it uses tapes so unfortunately i cant take the tape out, gonna leave it for a few days but will def check all compartments for rice when i take it out, thanks for the advice!

on the plus side, mini dv camera can be replaced for cheap (unless you had a proper setup) - but likely you'll still be able to get your footage from the tape!
