I have skied a pair of 171 prodigy 2's for at least 4 years now, and it's finally time to replace them, and I am definitely going to fatter skis. I loved them but their time has come. I have narrowed it down to either the Faction prodigy 3's, which come in a 172 or 178cm height, or the Revolt 104's which come in 172 or 180cm. For reference I am 175cm or 5'9, about 145lb. With my old prodigies, their length was great, but i never needed them to be shorter. I knew I needed wider to get a more freeridey ski, that could still lap the park a few times. The prodigy 2's were great in the park, but I knew I needed more on the off piste.
I am leaning more towards the Revolt 104's, but getting them in 180 does seem a bit excessive. when 171 was 'fine' on my old pair. What do you think? I am a decent freestyle skier who is trying to go a bit bigger on the off piste. In an ideal world I would just get someone to make a revolt 104 that comes in like a 175-177cm but obv can't do that.
I also am hesitant to go faction again, otherwise I would have just only ever skied faction. Ive heard great thing about the revolts and the graphics are nicer too.
And for reference I had my prodigies on the recommended freestyle mount, and I would do the same on the new prodigies, and would get that recommended mount on the Revolts. Also gonna treat myself to pair of look pivots.
Right now I have been thinking about this predicament for fucking months and I just wanna order a pair of revolt 104s in 172cm and get on with it. Just second guessing.
Let me know what you think!
