Past Years of Winter X

Hi NS! I was getting curious and started digging. It seems pretty difficult to find footage from past years of Winter X Games online. I found some here, but feel free to contribute other videos or stories.

Let's start by rolling the clock back to the 3rd Winter X Games (2nd time in Crested Butte, CO) in 1999.

https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/653025/Winter-X-Games-1999-ski-big-air---01This is the first skiing video I was able to find, although two previous years do exist; 1997 in Big Bear, CA and 1998 in Crested Butte.

In 2000, the show headed over to Mount Snow, VT and picked up "Ski Boarding", which did not seem to last long.

2001 was the final year that Winter X Games were not televised live. This was also the second consecutive year of the Mount Snow location. The move to Aspen, CO happened for the 2002 year and Winter X Games has not looked back since.

I miss the og courses. Def had some weird. Also funny as hell how wonky some of those jump take offs were in the early years. X games was slower than you'd think at adopting a streamline shape

yeah i miss some of the goofier stuff. i also would love to see the step-up come back but i kinda see why they got rid of it
